Must-visit in the Barolo!

A visit to the Barolo is not complete without having eaten at Trattoria in Piazza. The evening begins with the always welcoming Emanuela who is eager to talk about all the dishes with passion and love for her food. Her English is excellent, and her explanations all the more so. The atmosphere in the restaurant is intimate with a feeling like you are really coming into someone's home. For summer evenings, there is also a small terrace.

That said, the food is what makes Trattoria in Piazza so great. The food is delicious, traditional and made with love. For primi, the Agnolotti is highly recommended! Portions are good, making it easy to eat antipasti, primi, secondi and dessert. Allergies (such as nut allergies) are well catered for. Finally, the wine list is extensive and offers many local wines, such as Barolo, Arneis and Nas-cetta.

Amazing! We reserved a table as the restaurant is quite small. We were served by an excellent host who spoke English. The food was soo nice. We had starters, the kids then had a pasta and we had a secondi. All were amazing. We chose a local Arneis wine which was only 11 eur and was great too. In anni di giri nelle Langhe questa trattoria è una di quelle che mi ha sempre soddisfatto al massimo; al contrario di alcune volte in cui ho mangiato male e di altre, molto più numerose, in cui sono uscito dal ristorante senza grandi stimoli ma semplicemente con la pancia piena. Perché La cucina di Langa è sì ottima ma anche molto ripetitiva, difficilmente si notano differenze nella carta tra un locale e quello di fronte. La differenza secondo me la fanno: 1 il tocco creativo che modifica la ricetta 2 l'altissima qualità delle materie prime e cotture leggere per lasciare definiti i sapori 3 la fedeltà alle tradizioni più storiche e un'accoglienza di altri tempi Trattoria in piazza la trovo in questa terza categoria, mi piace sempre molto perché si trovano anche ricette meno offerte oggi, come la zuppa cisrà, servita in una zuppiera di ceramica decorata, e perché la sala e il modo di fare cortese ma caloroso della proprietaria mi fanno pensare di vivere in un'altra epoca, di trovarmi negli anni 60 ed essere il proprietario terriero che si concedeva il lusso di un pranzo fuori...
