Found this restaurant from a Google search...the pictures and reviews were enticing. Arrived at the vineyard/hotel/restaurant impressed by the property and hospitality. Our party of 7 were given a private room which made for the start of a great evening. However, the food did not deliver on a few misses. One was the seasoning. Our group ordered 2 sets of few dishes and one plate was too salty while the second plate of the same dish was fine. The other miss was on the 2 kg Florentine steak. When asked the temperature of the cook, we said medium rare, however, it came out well done on the filet side and medium well on the sirloin side. Also gnocchi should be pillowy soft, however, what was served was gummy and chewy. The group asked for a lot of the food to go. The restaurant did give 2 bottles of wine from their winery when we left, which were delicious and an appreciated gift. Overall, a promising restaurant if their seasoning and cook can be improved to match their service...
Read moreLa Terrazza at Villa Le Calvane featured the most delicious Italian cuisine, in all my years of travelling throughout various parts of Italy. Breakfast on the terrace included a tasty buffet with Italian cheeses, cold cuts, pastries, fresh baked Italian bread and much more! I also enjoyed warm dishes such as the delicious scrambled eggs, omelettes, pancakes and bacon! My lunches were spent on the beautiful terrace or at the poolside, with an amazing Tuscan view of the rolling green vineyards! The scrumptious pasta bolognese and the tasty club sandwich, with a mix of veggies, meats and eggs, were my two favourite dishes! I also experienced dinner on the terrace overlooking the beautiful countryside and vineyards, while enjoying the Tuscan sunset! For dinner, the trio that blew me away featured the bruschetta, pasta carbonara and various flavours of gelato (pistachio was my favourite)! Nothing can prepare your taste buds for this...
Read moreWe were staying at Villa Le Calvene already and decided to stay for La Terrazza, 100% worth it! The quality that goes into each dish here is fantastic. We split all these dishes so their portions are larger than what is shown in my photos. I had the best Beef Tartare i’ve ever had here and would’ve ordered more if i had room for it. The Risotto was also perfect, creamy and tasty and great for some Scarpetta. To end off the Fiorentian steak was outstanding, a great dish for 2 to split. The service here was overall fantastic, especially our waiter Leo! Because the Villa doubles as a winery, you can get a great selection of Wine for fair prices as well. Even if you’re not staying at the villa and are around Tuscany, give this...
