Fresco Fish Ionio — Restaurant in Nardò

Not recommended, in fact stay away if possible. We were a party of 3 (All Italians so we know what good food should taste like) that had a reservation beforehand and were immediately disappointed on arrival by the view. The sun sets directly behind one of their buildings that would have made the experience at least a little bit better.

We started by ordering 2 orders of Tagliatelle con le Cozze (Tagliatelle with Mussels) which was to our disappointment VERY watery instead of a creamy sauce. The taste was okay but considering the price, you would at least expect them to know how to cook pasta.

The other dish we ordered was off the menu and was suggested by the waiter which was Tagliatelle con I Ricci (Tagliatelle with Sea Urchins). Again it was nothing special, but the aftertaste was of raw fish which was just not good. Portion size was okay but the presentation for each plate did not match the taste.

For seconds we had originally ordered an Orata (type of fish we really enjoy) which was good, and a Polpo con Crema di Ceci (Octopus with Chickpea sauce) which we decided to have canceled after we were disappointed by the pastas.

When the bill came, they tried to charge us for the Octopus that we did not eat. We will definitely...

Abbiamo chiesto alla cameriera quale fosse il piatto del giorno (12 euro da menù) , e ci ha indicato le tagliatelle ai ricci e i ravioli ripieni con pesce spada. Tralasciando l'attesa, arrivano i 2 piatti di tagliatelle quasi freddi. Abbiamo fatto notare ciò alla cameriera, che si è scusata. Paghiamo il conto e li troviamo la sorpresa: invece che 36 euro per i 3 piatti del giorno abbiamo pagato 18 euro le tagliatelle (totale 36 euro) e 15 i ravioli!!! Allego lo scontrino per correttezza di informazione. Ps: 24 euro per 20 ricci non li abbiamo pagati neanche in posti più costosi; ci sembra un vero furto però quello è stato un nostro sfizio, per cui non concorre alla valutazione negativa, ma è solo per vostra informazione. L'unico nostro sbaglio è stato non controllare subito lo scontrino. Appellandoci al buon senso, chiamo il locale per chiedere spiegazioni, mi risponde la cameriera che, spiazzata dall'incresciosa situazione, mi dice che, giustamente, i piatti non possono avere un costo di 12 euro, spiegazione del tutto plausibile ma l'errore è stato menzionarli come piatto del giorno (12 euro, vedi menù). Perciò essendo un errore del locale, mi sarei aspettato che la cameriera mi avesse detto che avrebbe provveduto a restituire la differenza pagata (15 euro). Invece se n'è uscita con un "mi dispiace", come per la tagliatelle fredde impiattate sicuramente prima dei ravioli ma fatte arrivare insieme, e con un "provvederemo a rettificare la situazione affinché non succeda la prossima (?) volta.." Naturalmente non ci sarà una...

Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful location and very delicious food. We had the mussels with pepper that was divine. The squid and chick pea mash which went really well with the broth from the mussels. Plus the anchovy pasta with Botarga… I would have loved more anchovy and botarga in the pasta but that’s my personal preference. PLUS the best Aperol Spritz we sampled in the area. Prices are maybe a little on the higher side but worth it....
