I really want to like this place because the food really is good. The service, however, is a shambles. And I mean that in a bad way. Not the Fawlty Towers charming incompetence but rather in its arrogance. We’ve been twice, and on both occasions they’ve not had the specific pasta they serve with a couple of their dishes (no pacccheri with the tuna and no calamarata with the frutti di mare). Instead we we’re offered spaghetti or linguine. I chose linguine and my other, the spaghetti. Their response? Go with the same pasta because they can make it more quickly. Not unreasonable, except he tried to tell us that spaghetti and linguine are the same thing (hint; they are not).

On a second visit a week later with the in-laws (because the food really is good) they only had two dishes available out of the whole menu.

And when we asked for some fries with some ketchup(admittedly not on the menu) for my five year old niece, the response was a level of arrogance rarely experienced in all my years working within the hospitality business; basically saying “we shouldn’t even be doing French fries so don’t even ask for ketchup”, then promised to bring some and never did).

Dopo una ricerca attraverso le recensioni sui locali tra Santa Maria in bagno e Santa Caterina io e la mia compagna abbiamo scelto di cenare in questo locale. Location carina come anche l'atmosfera. Come antipasto abbiamo preso il polpo con il sughetto, tipo alla Luciana e delle cozze fritte. La frittura di cozze era inzuppato di olio, molliccia, leggermente tiepida e per niente croccante, dall'aria veramente pesante. Visto che le cozze costano 3euro al kilo alla pescheria Medusa di Galatone(ottima pescheria se non superlativa direi) , io fossi stato lo chef la frittura l'avrei rifatta, perché secondo me l'olio non era a temperatura. Come scelta dei primi abbiamo trovato solo due piatti, pasta alle cozze e linguine ai ricci. Le linguine ai ricci le ho trovate buone, veramente apoetitose e presentate bene. Per secondo la mia compagna ha ordinato la frittura di calamari e polpo(fiduciosa, ordinata prima di assaggiare le cozze fritte purtroppo).Polpo duro così come anche i calamari, pastella inesistente e a dir poco riluttante l'aspetto. O cambiate la friggitrice o cambiate lo chef. Fantastiche le ragazze che come falchi, non appena finito l'ultimo boccone di ogni portata, in maniera fulminea ci hanno tolto il piatto dal tavolo mentre stavamo ancora masticando.(forse facevate meglio a liofilizzare il cibo, tipo pappette plasmon). Se si sceglie di fare due turni bisogna che gestite un po' meglio la situazione ci avete fatto mangiare in 40 minuti, nemmeno in pausa lavoro. Buoni i vini con una scelta di media qualità. We came to this restaurant on our first day of our 4-weeks stay and we come back almost daily. The food is felicious, very fresh fish and sea food. Great staff who treat us like their friends since the second visit. Even our dog was very pleased 🫶🏻.

We tried almost everything on the menu and i can’t even pick the best one. If I had to, I would say: tuna carpaccio, pignata di polpo, frutura mista, oysters and pesce spada.

But still you cannot go wrong here.
