Pizzeria Trattoria La Lumiere — Restaurant in Negrar di Valpolicella

This was one of the best places I've ever eaten at (in general, not just in Italy). From the initial very friendly welcome to the genuinely warm goodbye, this place was a pure delight! Dogs allowed, by the way. One of those unpretentious, off-the-beaten-track eateries you only rarely stumble upon if you're lucky and in the right place at the right time. The staff and their service were superb (can't even remember the last time food service was so good). The menu is extensive (in a good way) and we took ages to decide what to order and I could see that the waitress who served us initially was constantly checking to see if we were ready to order and, as soon as we were ready, she came straight over and took our order seamlessly. Be careful (again, in a good way) about the portion sizes! We ordered the antipasto alla'Italiano and the mixed salad believing them to be small portions and also ordered two pizzas, also believing that they'd be the normal pizza sizes, but the portions turned out to be huge! The quality of the food is also top notch. The prices were also amazingly reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food. We thought the bill would add up to over 50€ because we ordered some drinks, dessert and coffee too but it only came to 37€ so we were pretty sure they undercharged us. They also offered us several things throughout the meal (including limoncello) so this was a bonus. We left them 45€ because we thought it was worth more than what they charged us. Where to start, the food is delicious, the service is wonderful, prices are very good for what you get in return.

If you eat here I will promise you will shed a tear, because you will never had such a delicious local experience anywhere in the region.

In total we have visited La Lumiere two times, and every time was a chance to try something new on their diverse menu.

Abbiamo acquistato un coupon su Groupon per una cena a base di Costata d'Irlanda. Siamo arrivati e stati accolti con un calore veramente raro al giorno d'oggi. Siamo stati accompagnati al tavolo, al servizio dell'aperirivo di benvenuto e dell antipasto, per altro super abbondante e gustoso, il titolare ci si avvicina e con un fare davvero gentile ci augura una buona cena. Al servizio della Costata rimaniamo senza parole, una carne deliziosa e che ai scioglieva in bocca, servita su una specie di piadina e con patatine fritte di accompagnamento(abbondantiasime), il titolare passando ci augura una buona continuazione , con il suo modo così gentile che ti fa ssntire davvero bevenuto. Arriviamo al dolce e ci vengono serviti due dolci deliziosi, e sempre abbondanti, apprezzatissimo. Ordiniamo fuori coupon due caffè e ci vengono serviri assieme a grappa e sbrisolona.
