Trattoria Alla Ruota — Restaurant in Negrar di Valpolicella

Beautiful location, decent food and absolutely terrible management. I spent pleasant wedding party among the guests but it was really unpleasant experiences for the young couple. The owner raised the price at the very last moment, demanding money from the young couple (during the party). They could not experience their most important moment in peace and happiness and be with their guests because of the problems that owner created. Absolutely not worth its overall good reviews. This place has a potential but the present owners do not care about wellbeing of their guests. They have ambitions for being the best but cannot understand that overall experience is including pleasant memories of their guest and not only the food- which I have to admit was decent but nothing that stayed in my memory. Also lack of serious vegetarian option is a serious problem. Could you believe that a place fighting for a Michelin Star served us boiled piece of celery with addition of more boiled celery... all tasted like it was only salted. Even fast food restaurants are more creative than this... all in all big and surprising...

This is a beautiful restaurant with luscious garden, nice views and the overall atmosphere was great.

The food was a bit of a mix of great and average: antipasto was amazing, main meal very average for all of us, but the soufflé at the end was just perfect.

However, the major turn off was one particular waiter with snobby, pretentious demeanor and a dismissive attitude. It felt like he was doing us a favour by letting us sit at his table. We asked a simple question able the menu and he just answered coldly and walked off. Not sure if he’s related to the owners but he’s certainly not great for the business. I also spoke in English to him as my children do not speak Italian but he constantly answered in Italian. It was a huge let down that ruined our evening and I regret not walking out.

I spent time in this "restaurant" as a guest of an organized party. The food was ok, but as a vegetarian I got one dish that was a JOKE! Instead of a meal that would satisfy my hunger, I received 2 slices of celery with diced celery in tomato sauce between them. Unfortunately it was not arranged with anyone. Waiter service ok. Owner very unpleasant to raise any concerns. Looking at other opinions, this is a recurring situation. Also the price was raised at the last minute even though we had agreed on something else. PITY.
