Ristorante Acquaforte Il Borgo Antico — Restaurant in Nocera Umbra

Look, I don’t know where all these other positive reviews have come from but I’ll recap my dining experience here tonight and you be the judge.

When we first arrived at the opening time of 7pm, they told us they were closed and to come back in half an hour.

Next, the waitress tried to force us to purchase drinks when we specifically told her we were good with water multiple times.

After that, my steak came out with so much ROCK SALT on it that i had to spend the time to scrape it off before each bite, which meant I didn’t have any of the truffle topping it came with. If I hadn’t done this, it would have been inedible. The steak was also cold.

To top it all off, the grilled vegetables came out COLD. Not just warm as if they had been sitting on a kitchen counter for a few minutes, but ice-fridge cold. I don’t know what type of magical grill they have out the back that cooks with liquid nitrogen, but it might be the only one in the world. Inedible.

We also had to ask multiple times for olive oil to be bought to the table, since a waitress and waiter seemed too busy canoodling to actually serve the customers in front of them.

Do not recommend! Would stay away. I’m usually a pretty forgiving person with restaurants having worked in hospitality but this is beyond...

Extreem slechte service. Meer dan een uur gewacht waarop er 3 van de 5 gerechten kwamen. De ober negeerde ons continu. Na zelf naar binnen te gaan en het uit te leggen kwamen er twee verkeerde gerechten. Toen ik aangaf dat we niks meer wilden en ik de rekening wilde, kwam de baas om te zien wat we moesten krijgen. Toen het bijgerecht er nog niet was, begon hij uit te leggen dat je dat voor of na het hoofdgerecht hoort te eten. Alsof ik een idiote toerist ben. En daarna kregen we een glas wijn aangeboden. Ik ben klaar met eten en wil de rekening. Maar dat negeer je! Schokkend, niet wat wij gewend zijn in dit gastvrije Italiaanse stadje waar we nu al een paar jaar wonen. Op Tripadvisor staat dat deze tent permanent is gesloten. Dat was beter geweest. Behalve als je bevriend bent met de baas, want dan kom je na ons binnen, bestel je na ons en krijg je veeeeel eerder te eten met allerlei extraatjes van verschillende obers.
