Ristorante pizzeria L'ulivo&Family — Restaurant in Noto

We thought this was just a pizzeria but restaurant has a full menu. Being pescatarians we opted for the "Fish of the Day"at E22, the most expensive item on the menu.Started with a salad which was not as advertised, just tomatoes and lettuce but missing the fresh basil on the menu. Kevin brought the fresh fish to the table and they looked good. Our fish meals were excellent. Kevin asked repeatedly for a review and here you have it. When it came time to pay, the bill was a shock. 46 Euros for my fish! My wife's was as stated on the menu. When I expressed my astonishment he produced another (unseen)menu with 80 Euros per kilo scrawled across the top in a black felt pen. Quelle surprise and a downer for what we had hoped was a nice evening. So in this restaurant buyer beware. If you're looking for the "Fish of the Day" don't become the "Catch of the Day". I was told that they do good pizza, so I decided to try this place. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the restaurant food. Pasta allo scoglio was a mound of uncooked (hard and white in the middle) and unseasoned spaghetti in a puddle of broth with a topping of overcooked mussels, a few cockles and...microscopic, semi dissolved shrimps. Never seen anything like that in 40 years of this being my favourite dish. Staff tried to say that it's a matter of taste... Not sure of this! Grilled fish was better, but not great. At first glance, this restaurant might seem unremarkable — located a bit outside the Lido di Noto, near a roundabout — but don't let the appearance fool you.
