I apologise in advance for the long reference, but the elegantly decorated Ristorante Da Vittorio is a culinary experience that everyone should try. It is run by the father - the savory chef, the mother - dessert chef and server, and son who was so much more than the "waiter." Sadly, I did not take their names, but he took us through each course, explaining the ingredients, all locally sourced and how they influenced the meal. We chose the Barolo 2017 as our wine for the evening. Our evening started with a welcome gift of tastes to prepare our palate. Each of the 6 items were explained, and the order in which to eat them was told. Each sample was wonderful. For my meal, I had an amazing gnocchi with pepperoni, melanzane and chickpea, which was delicious! It was followed by very tender braised Fossano beef cooked for 3.5 hours and served with local sauted vegetables and ended with a delicious magic dome of chocolate that had a creamy center, with orange puree, covered with salted caramel and surrounded by slithers of fruit in a nutty, creamy sauce. My meal was spectacular. My husband had the 'Discover our Valley' set menu. This was made up of 6 or 7 exotic courses, all using wonderful local ingredients and each course was arranged in a way to build the palate up to the final course. The ingredients were explained in detail by the son (I am so sad I did not take down the names). For example the sausage is made by the father and to ensure the taste and tenderness, the pig is purchased as a piglet and fed a diet of potato, chestnuts etc (all local) to guarantee the taste and tenderness. The final surprise was the 4 little desserts brought with our espresso. They were delicious. We were given a locally produced digestivo after our coffee. The menu is seasonal and we can not wait to try each season. The father came out while we were paying to greet us, and the wonderful family bid us farewell, such a warm experience. It has also perked our interest in the area and we will be back to visit Nucetto in the day because we couldn't enjoy its scenery at night.

During a roadtrip, scheduled for nice curves only, lunch time came in sight. Looking for a place to eat, Google helped us to find this place. If you drive by, you will most probably miss it, or think it is closed. But we were lucky to feel the door. The family running this place is friendly, well qualified and just a joy to meet. The dining room is lovely, the temperature perfect if you come out of an overheated convertible or from a motorbike. The menu is full of local dishes, from all around the area to even very special ones. The waiter (actually son) speaks his languages and knows his products. His suggestion for a local wine to match our dishes was perfect. This restaurant was the happy place today for us. Instead of a quick meal we did a full round and enjoyed it to the max. Take it from a stranger just passing by: this is the place to visit for a excellent meal. And princing is matching the Italian style: worth every penny. Thanks for the service, we will be back.

This place is a true piemontese gem. First off; the service was outstanding. Our waiter (son of the proprietor) took the time to learn our preferences for service as well as fun food related idioms in our local language. Communication in English was easy and effortless, and every dish was explained to the degree we required. Secondly, the food. The food at Da Vittorio is local and simple, and packed with flavour and quality ingredients. The whole area, from neighboring towns to the next valley was involved in procurement of ingredients, and the whole family behind the restaurant, was involved in collecting ingredients and cooking them to perfection. Thirdly, the dishes. The dishes were wholly local and without fancies. Especially the tarjarin and the agnolotti stole the thunder of the evening. Do yourself the favor of driving to Da Vittorio and enjoying a relaxed evening in the very capable hands of the staff, and taste what the Piemonte region has to offer.

We were tipped by the host of our B&B, and the experience sure lived up beyond any expectation! We were welcomed very friendly by Lorenzo, who waited our table. The restaurant is completely family owned and run. All share a great passion for food, local terroir and love to talk passionately about it. This love is reflected in the dishes served. Every single dish was well presented perfectly portioned and reflected the phenomenal simplicity of food prepared to perfection. We chose the menu which features local products, among black truffles, which were used in abundance in the dishes. This restaurant is a true hidden gem for food enthusiasts, traveling to this region. the combination of fine dining and local products was a fantastic experience, and the dishes tasted heavenly.

We were lucky, to have fresh porcini available and had them served fried. one of the specialties of the restaurant. it is unlike anything else I ever had and well worth the detour!

When traveling in the area we will most definitely return!

Thanks for our wonderful evening and keep...
