We stayed at a nearby farmhouse last summer for a few weeks and ended up eating here with our group 4-5 times. The grilled meats are excellent, the mixed grill seemed to be the specialty and is highly recommended. The pastas were good as well. Portions were generous and shareable. The owner, his adorable daughter, and the staff were excellent. Reservations recommended and can be easily made by stopping by the day before. The last night we ate there they brought us delicious cookies with our coffee which were so good but there were so many we couldn't finish. As we were pulling out of the parking lot the owner brought us a bagfull of the cookies to have with our coffee the next morning. Absolutely delightful! This restaurant is a hidden gem in the tuscan countryside. We've been in Italy for 2 weeks with many meals in Rome and Amalfi coast but the food we ate here was the favorite of our group. For starters the food is awesome, for the taste and price but the best part is the service provided by the owner. He waited on us, and also prepared our entire meal single-handedly. It was a nice change of pace from all the pasta and pizza to have some hearty beef. The aged meat is on display when you arrive and cut to order before its grilled over open fire. Di passaggio da Orvieto siamo stati costretti dalla fame a fermarci in questo locale in quanto l'unico aperto sulla strada, ma era meglio restare digiuni! Questo locale si è rivelato pieno di sorprese! Siamo entrati e ci accorgiamo immediatamente che il banco della tavola calda è vuoto. Ci guardiamo in giro per poter vedere cosa è possibile ordinare in alternativa, ma i prezzi non sono esposti e non ci viene dato nemmeno il menù. Chiediamo allora di poter mangiare dei semplici panini col prosciutto, e anche di poter vedere la grandezza dei panini, e il proprietario ci mostra un filone bello grosso con cui dice di fare solitamente i panini con salumi. Ordiniamo e ci sediamo da soli dato che non c'è nessuno a farci accomodare, in un tavolo che purtroppo risulterà appiccicoso. Dopo almeno 20 minuti veniamo serviti, ed ecco la prima sorpresa: una fetta di pane (di quello che ci aveva mostrato) diviso a metà e sovrapposto a mò di panino con dentro un pò di salume quasi invisibile.... praticamente due fette di pane (divise a metà) a testa (eravamo quattro di noi). Era più pane che salume, e nonostante per noi il termine "panino" voglia dire un altra cosa, la fame ci costringe comunque a mangiarlo, quando all'improvviso ecco la sorpresa numero due: esce un ragno enorme da sotto il tovagliolo cui sopra erano appoggiati i panini che mi fa lanciare un urlo e mi fa saltare dalla sedia. Il proprietario, nonostante abbia visto la scena, non si è minimamente interessato all'accaduto e ha fatto finta di non vedere nulla. Decidiamo allora di andarcene il prima possibile, chiediamo il conto ed ecco la sorpresa numero tre: 4 euro a persona per due fettine di pane!!! totale??? 6 euro per quattro lattine da 33 cl e 16 euro per quattro panini che in realtà erano due pezzi di pane con salumi invisibili e quasi stopposi, e con accompagnamento di ragni! assurdo, davvero un accoglienza pessima per dei turisti che volevano solo mangiare, e non essere spennati restando a pancia...
