Ristorante Masolino — Restaurant in Panicale

I stumbled upon the charming town of Panicale while planning my daughters wedding in Umbria . We were looking for a small boutique hotel for our guests to stay not too far from the venue . After meeting Luca and having a delicious lunch at Masolino I knew this was the place . Together with Luca, Annalisa, & Andrea we planned an amazing welcome dinner and day after brunch . I can not express enough what an amazing job they did . The flowers , candles , the display , beyond words ! It was such a beautiful setting in their cave room and Luca even arranged to have a singer & guitarist for the party . The food is just incredible and the wine selection the best ! There is just such a charm about this tiny town and this family run restaurant is just so special . The charming boutique hotel is a 5 minute walk and Tamara & Claudia were so helpful with arranging rooms for our guests . Luca , you really are the best ! And of course Nonna ! An absolute pleasure in Panicale! Always a friendly welcome and nice to see they have recently updated their menu! La nonna in the kitchen cooks very well and always manages to serve dishes with wonderful flavours! The restaurant has two parts; the original restaurant - with some outside terrace spaces overlooking Lago trasimeno (come here by sunset, wonderful views!) - and the newer part across the street, including an original medieval cave part where you can sit as well. Masolino has an amazing wine list, and the owner Andrea clearly knows what he is talking about when advising wine choices. We’ve been returning customers for several years now and are always happy to return, so would confidently recommend....

We booked a table for 2 and were lucky to be seated on the balcony. The view whilst eating a delicious dinner is amazing. Beware, your partner might not like it when you keep staring at the magnificent view instead of her (or his) eyes.

You can also feel the enthousiasm of the people working at Masolino, they treat their gasts very well so that they can have a wonderful evening.

And then there's the food, that's just delicious, the chefs know how to combine their ingredients perfectly to put some magic on your plate.
