We decided to visit Pattada during our trip to Sardinia to visit some of the knife makers. What a nice visit it turned out to be! Not only is Pattada a beautiful, accessible town, but the family that owns Hotel Liberty is so kind and welcoming. We immediately felt like part of the family and I was reminded of staying with my favorite aunt and uncle.||||We entered the hotel through the restaurant where we were warmly greated by Tommaso and his wife. They showed us to our pretty room, but we could tell that Tommaso was just waiting to serve us some good food, so we ordered a light lunch. Over the next two days (we liked it so much that we stayed an extra day) we let Tommaso just bring us what he wanted to and it was all simply delicious. ||||The first night we had the best vegetable soup that I've ever had. It was unique, savory and perfect. A vegetarian would have been in heaven as it did not contain any meat or broth, just yummy vegetables, and a few beans and grains all cooked perfectly. The second night we had something like lasagna, but made with sardinian bread that was incredibile! It container mushrooms that grow simbiotically with cork oaks.||||Each meal began with a few slices of Tommaso's home made salami (sorry vegetarians), some good bread and a few house-cured olives.||||Tommaso told us (in Italian) everything about the food - what it was made from, where the ingredients came from, and how he and his wife prepared it.||||Our room was clean, comfortable and lovely, but best of all was the incredibile hospitality that this lovely family obviuosly takes great pride and pleasure in providing. The family also includes a nice young woman in her '20s and a cat. They all seemed...

Read moreArrived very hot and tired after many miles of riding our bikes through the hilly terrain of Sardinina. This hotel is like an oasis. Looks very ordinary from outside, but the interior is a festival of modern art and fine furnishings. Room was fantastic. Spacious and tastefully furnished. Not much else in the village so we ate in the hotel's restaurant. Had a drink in the bar accompanied by Salami and olives.Tried the menu turistic.Several courses for 30 Euros. Wow! Courses of Sardinia food kept arriving until we could eat no more. Can't...
