Osteria Focara — Restaurant in Pesaro

We stopped here during a cycling trip, but unfortunately felt very unwelcome. As soon as the staff saw that we were cyclists, we were immediately turned away. There was no sense of hospitality - it was clear we were not welcome.

*Update after owner's response: We arrived in front of the restaurant and waited, but the waiters walked past us without acknowledging us or offering any greeting. After a few minutes, we decided to sit at one of the tables.

It’s possible that you had reservations, but at the time of our arrival, only about 20–30% of your available tables were occupied. I doubt that all the remaining tables would have been taken within the next half hour.

After visiting a nearby bar, we passed by your restaurant again about 30 minutes later, and still, less than 50% of the terrace tables were occupied (not to mention the additional capacity you have indoors).

I’d also like to point out that some of your staff didn’t speak English and therefore couldn’t explain where we were supposed to sit. If you had clearly marked and separated tables for dining guests and guests who only want a drink, we would have followed the rules. But since this wasn’t properly indicated, we could only guess.

I strongly recommend that for the sake of foreign guests, you make this kind of information clearly visible at the entrance to avoid similar confusion in the future. Or next time, simply approach your guests in a timely manner instead of leaving them waiting in uncertainty. 😉

Lastly, I would also advise you to treat all guests equally, without prejudice toward certain types of visitors (such as cyclists). This kind of attitude, especially in such a high-visibility location, reflects poorly on...

Ho chiesto una grigliata non impanata mi han detto che non è possibile in quanto erano già tutte pre-impanate quindi preparate prima solo per cuocerle poi, la cameriera mi ha detto che avevano fuori menù un'orata che me la potevano fare come volevo e quindi non impanata, mi è stata servita dichiarata come 400 g ma a mio parere di carne ne avrò mangiato 60-80 grammi, è stata servita con un contorno incluso di patate tagliate a Chips che a me non sono piaciute e quindi le ho fatte sentire la mia compagna è anche lei non sono piaciute. Segnalato alla cameriera e Lei ha detto che l'orata era piccola, segnalate alla cassa mi han detto che sono specializzati in impanatura e quindi se chiedo preparazioni diverse sono quindi diverse, ma questo dettaglio all'ordine non mi è stato detto. In conclusione se non mangio pesce impanato non è buono ? Forse era una giornata sbagliata ma non ci sentiamo di tornare anche perché circa tre settimane fa' eravamo andati a pranzo lì vicino (molto buono) e poi avevamo preso la moretta da loro (Osteria Focara) e l'oste ci aveva detto dopo i nostri apprezzamenti alla moretta ( caffè tipico dei pescatori di Fano) che anche da loro si mangiava bene anzi era assolutamente da provare. Provato e mai torneremo. Questa è una aggiunta alla risposta del proprietario dell'Osteria focara, Innanzitutto ho messo la recensione non appena sono uscito ma successivamente quando ci sono fermati in un bar a prendere un caffè circa 40 minuti dopo, una moretta che non ho preso da lei visto il pregresso, a differenza di quanto le scrive io non le ho contestato la qualità dell'orata ma che era piccola e che le patate non erano di non mio gradimento, sul fatto che lei è specializzato e fa il pesce impanato anche le patate me l'ha detto lei al pagamento cioè al banco e ora non vedo perché scrive il contrario. L'umiltà è una situazione rara e probabilmente ci si deve arrampicare agli specchi specie se non si è Spiderman e lei non lo e di sicuro. Edit : Since the owner wants constructive criticism. The food was terrible, the meat had no taste, i couldn't tell which type of meat i was eating, we had to wait a lot for a pasta that really taste like nothing. 2.you respond to all the negative comments in a more aggressive/personal way which is not really objective and is biased.

My experience with your restaurant is overall the worst i had so far, i am entitled to my opinion whether you like it or not. The food i had doesn't deserve any star.
