wanted to have pizza with my grandpa but our usual spot was closed for holidays. after a quick maps search, i found this place. close to his house and, most importantly, open. we decided to give it a try.
we sat outside, which we immediately regretted once the flies started swarming. service was decently fast, but to be fair, the place was nearly empty. we asked for room temperature water. first mistake. it was warm.
the pizzas were underwhelming. mine was a six-cheese, but there wasn’t nearly enough cheese to justify the name. my grandpa’s “four seasons” was even worse: instead of four distinct toppings, everything was lumped together in one sad corner. one thin slice of ham, three artichokes, and a couple mushrooms. looked more like “one gloomy season” than four.
we tried to salvage the evening with dessert. i asked to see the menu, but the waiter just smiled, nodded, and then… stood in the background doing absolutely nothing for fifteen minutes. only after we asked again did another employee finally bring it over. the tiramisu came melted, and my cannolo was dry and clearly not fresh.
wouldn’t come back here unless i’m...
Read moreI had the most amazing meal here while on a business trip to Piacenza. The waitress was so sweet and kind, she made me feel incredibly welcome even though I was a solo traveller on Valentine's day. She bared my basic Italian, helping me go through the menu and order. I had bread and butter, a pizza, a half a litre carafe of house red wine, a tirramisu and a coffee and all of that, plus tip, came to €18.00 which is incredible. The pizza was delicious and the wine was marvellous. I would've enjoyed the tirramisu a tiny bit more of it there was a bit more cocoa on top of it, but this is just my personal fancy. This is a small, family run restaurant, off the city centre, but totally worth every euro and minute spend walking to it. Have not stopped recommending it to all of my colleagues who have been send to the...
