Spinnaker — Restaurant in Pianello del Lario

Literally the worst dining experience I've ever had. The staff were rude, unfriendly, unwelcoming and clearly dislike tourists. Menus were rudely slapped down on the table and snatched out of our hands. We were laughed at, and I'm certain we were served substandard food because we weren't local. I ordered the special spinnaker pasta dish, however it lacked 99% of the listed ingredients. My partner ordered the gnocchi. A totally different list of ingredients, however when they came out, both dishes look like they'd been cooked in exactly the same sauce. I was really disappointed with the quality of the service and the food. What a shame. I expect of you're local, you'll get what you're supposed to be paying for. However, if you're a tourist expect to be treated disrespectfully and to be ripped off. I suggest dining out in Dongo at the bistro instead. This...

I strongly suggest to avoid this place. We had to eat in a cheap tent with plastic garden chairs. People were watching football (which is understandable during this time), whilst smoking ínside the tent. The staff was ok, not really friendly, but the food was horrible. We asked for simple dishes, because we did not really trust the place: spaghetti carbonara and lasagna. My boyfriends lasagna was hard as rock and completely dried out. I did not have any eggs in my carbonara, only cream. The bacon tasted sour. We both did not finish even half of our p'ate, yet we did have to pay the full price, though we clearly stated the food did not rise to our expectations.

If you like unenthusiastic waiters and like to be treated disrespectfully, wait for service longer than half an hour without being able to order a drink, being attacked by flies continuously………..you should definitely go to this place.

We haven’t tried the food as we left after 30 mins of being completely ignored. Good news is…..it drove us to have dinner at Trattoria Pizzeria Dei Platani. The complete opposite of the above written. Friendly staff, quick service. Besides that, splendid food good wine, same price window as Spinnaker. If you are looking for an alternative close by Spinnaker, you could go to Laguna Beach Ristorante which is a 5 mins walk from Spinnaker.

All up to you if you visit Spinnaker or not. If you do, I hope you’ll have a way better experience...
