We came to this Trattoria based solely on the Google reviews, and we were not disappointed! Initially, the place doesn't look like much, just like a regular Italian café, in fact the 1st night we came it looked closed. If you find the place like this, don't be dissuaded, as the owner Pietro will more than likely be sat at a table next door and will gladly turn on the lights and set the table for you. The owners, Imma and Pietro, sat with us and asked what we wanted, there was no menu but nothing was too much trouble. It was proper home cooked Italian fare, and tasted amazing! We had a starter of meat, cheese, bread and tomatoes antipasti followed by penne arrabiatta, and 2 bottles of homemade wine. We only ordered 1 bottle, but it was poured into a jug with fresh peaches straight off the tree and tasted so good! As soon as the 1st bottle was emptied into the jug another arrived! It was so welcoming and familial, they spoke no English (why should they, its a local Italian Trattoria !) but we managed with Google translate. The final bill was only €40, so cheap but so tasty! We returned the following night and had prawn and zucchini pasta which was equally fantastic, we were the the only people in the place and were made to feel like family. If this was a tourist destination this place would be packed 7 nights a week. Definitely...
Read moreWe have been here for the second evening in a row already, and we are still fascinated and full of love for this place. Starting with the restaurant itself. So, we will be back for the rest of your stay here. The guestroom is not much decorated, but that is because it doesn't have to distract with decoration. It's a social place for people to come, eat deliciously, and have a chat about their day (if they speak Italian. Otherwise, Google translate will help a lot). The innkeepers are the warmest, friendliest persons you can find. Old style innkeepers who enjoy hosting people and whose eyes gloom when you like the food and who will sit with you a little to chat. Oh, and you'll love the food. I guarantee. Three courses are a must, so be sure to leave space for food throughout the day. They even highly respect vegetarians and will create you mouthwatering vege dishes with homegrown vegetables. All of that for a very, very reasonable prize. We paid 40€ for two for a full 3 course menu with drinks the first night and for even more food on the second night 50€, so this is amazing for the amount and quality of food that you'll get. If you want to feel like you're visiting your Italian grandparents and their only desire is to treat you well with food, this is the experience you're looking for. This is a must...
Read moreAmazing food & very friendly hosts!
Best traditional family restaurant between Capri an Salerno. Typical local rural food. There is no menu and you have to rely on the recommendation of the host and it's worth it. The portions are really big, healthy and delicious. That's how you imagine Italian food. Everybody coming to this area needs to go there, to understand Italian tradition. It is recommended to call before you come. They have even opened the restaurant for us. It was amazing and the people were very friendly. The restaurant is around 50m west from the marking in Google. It's on the left of the pasticeria. There is also a public...
