Bocca d'Ersa — Restaurant in Poggibonsi

Our Airbnb host gave us a certificate for a multi-course dinner at Bocca d’Ersa. We found the staff welcoming, friendly, and professional. Dinner started with a selection of appetizers including a seafood salad, two carpaccios, a flan of baccalá and ricotta di bufala, pappa di mare, and fried cakes of fish and potato. It was some of the best fish (and, truly, some of the very best appetizers of any kind) we have ever tasted. It was followed by chitarrine pasta with pistachio pesto and clams, and paccheri with lobster and crab. Both were absolutely outstanding. Finally, a plate of roasted shrimp, followed by a choice of sweets (we had the wonderful lemon sorbet because we were getting quite full by this point). Dinner was accompanied by a bottle of 2016 “Il Poggio” Chianti Classico from a winery about a mile from the restaurant, but the wine list has quite a few other great wines at reasonable prices. This was a stunningly good meal in an unassuming restaurant in the heart of Tuscany. Our meal, without wine, was paid for by our certificate, but we would gladly pay the menu prices and more for the quality and quantity of food we had. As a traveler, I’ve never left a review on Google Maps, but I can't help writing a compliment on their hospitality. It is a restaurant with perfect foods and a more perfect mood. Seafood foiled pasta & fried seafood were really delicious. Everyone was kind to us, and they responded kindly to unexpected requests. Entirely, we had a wonderful time. Forse, dopo aver sentito e letto le esperienze di altre persone che hanno frequentato il locale, mi aspettavo qualcosa di più! Il locale è accogliente, il menù è abbastanza vario, i prezzi nella media. Andiamo alla cena: il risotto con gamberetti e zucchine si presentava bene nel piatto grande ma non aveva un gran sapore e le zucchine erano dure, praticamente crude. Anche gli altri primi scelti dai miei commensali avevano poco sapore. Finito di mangiare i primi, siamo rimasti per circa mezz'ora "dimenticati" dal cameriere che non ha neanche portato via i piatti vuoti dal tavolo. Poi finalmente è arrivata la frittura ma senza le patate che avevamo ordinato. Attesi alcuni minuti abbiamo cominciato a mangiare la frittura per non farla freddare... ma le patate sono arrivate solo alla fine... e le abbiamo mangiate da sole... mah! Mi faccio portare il conto, che ho sempre l'abitudine di controllare, e trovo che era stato conteggiato un piatto di "cozze scoppiate" che non avevamo ordinato né mangiato.
