Peter Pan 2 Ristorante Pizzeria — Restaurant in Poggio Mirteto

You see the name... Peter Pan 2... and think to yourself: "What a terrible name, can't be a nice restaurant." Then you decide to go anyway because they are open and everything else is closed. And then you get to the restaurant and you are like ... wow! ... It's actually really cozy with brick vaulted ceiling and warm lights (everywhere else has very bright, cold lights). Then you see the menu card and it has way too many choices and there are pictures of all the dishes. Again, you think to yourself: "The food can't be good here." Then you order and your food is served and you are like ... wow! ... The food is actually really good!

The staff consists of very hard workers, there was a bit of a language barrier but we managed with google translate and a bit of body language. The ambience is great, lots of Italian families and inside there's beautiful brick arches.

They even had gluten free pizza!! The prices were very okay, unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the menu but for example a pizza was €8-10. The pizza tasted great and it was a good portion!

Also: they're the only ones in the town that were actually open (around 22:00 during the holidays), whereas other places weren't open even when Google said they were. Also good to know: you can pay...

Arrivati dopo una lunga giornata tra i borghi della sabina, volevamo rifocillarci a dovere. Spulciando TripAdvisor quello che ci ha convinto di più è stato proprio il Peter pan 2, sia a livello di ambiente che di piatti proposti. Le aspettative sono state più che soddisfatte! Il locale è ricavato in un antico palazzo, in quelli che una volta erano i magazzini delle vetrerie locali. L'atmosfera che creano queste alte arcate di mattoni, insieme alla luce calda, sono perfette per godersi una cena rilassante. Passando al cibo, il menù spazia dalla pizzeria a proposte di mare e di terra, unendo le buone materie prime del territorio ad una cucina rustica e saporita: chips di patate (4€), scamorza in coccio con speck (6€), abbacchio in crosta di pistacchi con verdure gratinate (13€), stinco di maiale con pancetta croccante (9€), vino rosso di una cantina locale (10€). Tutti i piatti davvero saporiti e generosi nelle porzioni. Rapporto qualità prezzo davvero ottimo! A fine pasto ci sono state offerte delle ciambelline al vino e del mirto (tutto fatto in casa). Anche questo ultimo gesto, è l'emblema di quanto il gentile proprietario ci tenga a far sentire tutti a proprio agio ed anche un po' coccolati. Contenti e satolli della cena, ci ha fatto piacere rimanere a fare due chiacchiere con il proprietario, che ci ha fatto scoprire la storia del locale. Torneremo sicuramente a trovarvi, ora che abbiamo scoperto le meraviglie...
