You pull up to what looks like a forgotten bar next to a roundabout somewhere deep in the Sicilian mountains. The vibe? Somewhere between “post-football game beer stop” and “should we actually eat here?” It’s quiet, maybe one old guy sipping a Peroni in the corner, and the soundtrack is the distant hum of scooters and the fridge buzzing behind the counter as well as a YouTube soft rock playlist with a hallow of Elton John on the screening.

But then—bam!—they drop a pizza on your table - one by one, even though we are two people sitting at the table that makes your soul leave your body for a minute. Crispiest perfectly blistered crust, ingredients that taste like someone’s nonna personally grew them on a sun-drenched hillside, and tomato sauce that could make you write poetry.

After finding a picture of the menu on Google, I called to order 13 pizzas. The person on the phone told me that I needed to come in to see the menu because it wasn’t online. So, I drove for 15 minutes to check the menu, and it was almost the same as the one I found on Google… I placed my order for one hour later. The girl told me to come back at 7:10 PM, not later, because there would be too many customers. When we arrived at 7:10 PM, nothing was ready… We had to wait 30 minutes to get our pizzas. The quality was okay, to say the least, and one pizza was not the right one. They have the highest rating on Google in this village, but I’m not sure it’s justified.
