Ristorante della Baia — Restaurant in Porto Venere

The service-personal was definitely TRYING. The Interior is nicely designed and well-kept. But the food was significantly worse than what I would expect from an Italian restaurant in Germany. My burrata starter was pretty good, but ridiculously overpriced, then my wife got her main course (some supermarkets sell gnocchi with better texture) while I was finishing my starter. Then I had to wait around 15 minutes for my fried seafood main course to arrive it was already lukewarm and the batter seemed rather unseasoned and was a bit soggy from oil not crunchy. Esperienza (solo) ristorante insoddisfacente. Nessun pernottamento in hotel. Cena per due ricercata in funzione delle recensioni lette via web, ma le aspettative della qualità non sono state rispettate. Neanche lontanamente, unica nota positiva la professionalità e la gentilezza dello staff. Almeno questo, per essere un hotel da 3/4 stelle.... Con ristorante annesso?! In sostanza: Antipasto largamente "accettabile", ma sui due primi NON CI SIAMO... Da menù si citava uno "spaghetto allo scoglio al cartoccio", ma realmente servito con uno spaghettino sottile da mensa ospedaliera (senza offendere i lavoratori onesti della sanità pubblica). Che fatto al brodo sarebbe stato più accettabile... L'altro primo (linguine scampi e gamberi) di cui non si sentiva alcun sapore.. percebile forse solo il retro gusto dell'olio extra vergina d'oliva. Ma con un crostaceo "anemico" in quanto a sapore! Essendo delle persone che amiamo viaggiare e scoprire nuovi posti/tradizioni, siamo rimasti molto delusi. Specialmente perché in quanto italiani avremmo voluto trovare una qualità degna di nota per la tradizione culinaria che ci contraddistingue nel resto del mondo (a prescindere dal prezzo). Errori da "matita rossa", senza scomodare chef pluri-stellati. La ns cena é proseguita nel rispetto della gentilezza dello staff, che onestamente ci ha "confidato" che non eravamo i primi a far notare la "creatività" dello chef! Ok che i turisti stranieri (forse) per la gran parte non comprendano quanto detto... Ma questo é stato veramente troppo. In zona ci sono attività migliori lungo il porticciolo, sia per prezzo che...

This place is great. When contacting the hotel you may need a little extra patients and persistence but trust me it is worth it. The rooms are clean and comfortable with stunning views. The food was amazing. The staff were very nice and couldn't do any more for us. I stayed here for a week and had my wedding reception here during this time. I worked alot with Antonio and Giovanni and they were just fantastic. Thanks guys you made it the most...
