Vento d'estate — Restaurant in Portoferraio

Unfortunately we did not have a nice evening at all. We might have been the unlucky table that day or something but we would never go back again.

If you go, because of the other reviews like we did, just order a pizza or something. It looked and smelled good.

I ordered a fish starter and for main the tuna. Starter was oke, nothing special but good. But the tuna smelled really bad. After eating 2 very small bites that tasted almost sour I decided not to eat the meal. The red wine was sour as well, but the staff changed the wine to white wine.

The waiter didn’t ask why I left the whole meal. And we had to pay the full amount.

That brings me to the second point that was disappointing:

We also felt not welcoming in this restaurant as a foreigner (not Italian). It started when she placed us all the way in the back although we made a reservation. She said that the terrace was only reserved places....

I think it would remain one of the most unique dining experiences in Italy so far with a beautiful view to remember (been living here for almost 2 years). Impeccable level of detail to their dishes from appetizers to full course meals. Their menus are daily and so most dishes were fresh and according to what’s available in the season. Their signature pizzas are with ricotta filled crusts which was delicious, seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly. Tad bit expensive but totally worth the treat. They staff was so friendly and generous with traditional Italian drinks on the house at the end of our meals. Would come back any time...

Parafrasando la celebre canzone, miglior nome non si poteva trovare a questo delizioso angolo gastronomico elbano, che si ispira anche alla grande tradizione culinaria della sirena Partenope.... Allora, Non aspettate, andateci di corsa ma col consiglio di prenotare perché la voce ormai corre veloce.... Iniziamo dalla VERA Pizza napoletana doc: siamo al Top dell'isola d'Elba! Grande varietà e soprattutto rispetto della tradizione: lunga lievitazione naturale, alta, soffice, ingredienti di qualità, alta digeribilità. Se ve lo dice un napoletano abituato a mangiarle nel cuore di Napoli dovete crederci... Allego prova fotografica :-) Pochi ma Buoni è la filosofia dei primi piatti, espressi, a base di pesce. I secondi, di pesce fresco, sono eccezionali! Il pesce del giorno detta il menù, se avete la fortuna di trovarlo cotto nel forno (a legna) poi non lo dimenticherete più.... Buonissimi lo spada o il rombo al forno, il tonno in crosta di pistacchi, il polpo alla griglia, con contorni di verdure grigliate o patate novelle al forno. I dolci sono fatti in casa, se avete il piacere di trovare il Babà alla crema pasticcera il cerchio si chiude....definitivamente! Ottimo servizio, informale, simpatico ed amichevole, vi fanno sentire a casa! Dulcis in fundo, la Location: suggestiva, immersa nel bosco con spettacolare vista mare, dalla terrazza o dal giardino non importa, al tramonto poi i colori diventano indimenticabili.... Prezzi adeguati alla qualità. Merita il Viaggio! Bravi,...
