Ristorante Cianciuolo — Restaurant in Pozzallo

My husband and I were advice to have dîner there as it is very good and prices and quantity were good. First the fish Appetizers dish for 2 was actually for one person. We had to divide all the dish in 2 in order to be able to taste it together. The portion of each apetizer was ridiculous and the price quite high. Then we ordered the spaghetti with clams. What a bad surprise when we have received a dish with 80gr of pasta with 10 clams for 18 euros each. The portion was for a kid. My husband was very upset but decided to tell in a nice way to the waiter; from whom the answer was "that's the normal quantity for one person". We were really hungry and we left with a belly not so much filled. Finally, I took 1 glass of wine and my husband 1 bottle of water. We ended up paying 80 euros for 2. Their prices are unacceptable for the south of Italy. So, if you want to have a good taste on fresh fish, you have to plan a big budget and order several dishes in order...

Nice place right on the sea east of Pozzallo. While it's also a Pizzeria (Pizza is of course extremely popular in the country) the stand out is the fresh sea food. The best is the fresh fish right on ice that you can pick yourself. They will weigh it and tell you the cost if you ask. A decent size fresh fish is around 35 Euro. The catch of the day seemed to have been the Panchetta (see pic), this one came out to 25 Euros which would be excellent in other places. Not sure how that compares around here. The service is worth more than a mention there were various friendly waiters, attentive but not intrusive. The terrace dining facing the ocean was the main area for lunch. The mixed grill fish is also good although the swordfish was less fresh than the rest of the meal. Octopus salad only 12 Euro or so, again pretty decent value as it was extremely fresh. Ottimo servizio veloce , cortese e professionale.Antipasto di pesce di buona qualità , piccole quantità ma ben cucinate. Unica pecca, a mio parere, l impanatura dell ostrica . Secondo me ,quando è fresca.....deve essere servita cruda con limone. Passato ai primi è stato un disastro culinario. Pasta con piccole vongole, da me chiamate arselle o lupini. Priva di qualsiasi sapore, un sugo amaro che esaltava solo l abbondante quantità di vino ianco usato per la cottura. Arselle e/o vongole, secondo me congelate, non avevavo nessun gusto di mare. Probabilmente tenute a bagno in acqua dolce per giorni. Per la mia , modesta, professionalità in cucina la pasta una volta cotta e stata colata su questo terribile sugo di Vino bianco. Tra l altro la stessa base è gusto l ho riscontrata nel piatto di ravioli che ha mangiato mia moglie. Un brodo di vino bianco con piccoli gamberetti sgusciati privi di sapore. Unico sapore di mare negli asparagi di marini. In sintesi una vera e propria disavventura culinaria, naturalmente per chi ha esperienza di come si cucinano i sughi per i primi piatti. Nemmeno in Albania ho mai mangiato un piatto del genere.

Passati al secondo ci è stato servito un buon pagello al sale. Il cameriere è stato capace e professionale nel spinarlo e servirlo. Nulla da eccepire su questa portata. La professionalità del cameriere è stata utile nella scelta di un ottimo vino bianco.

Prezzi esagerati e non adeguati alla qualità .

Purtroppo i ristoratori, sopratutto nelle località turistiche, si approffitano dei turisti facendogli pagare prezzi esorbitanti per prodotti non all altezza.

ANNUALMENTE I RISTORATORI aumentano i prezzi e conseguentemente, tutti, diminuiscono le quantità.

Per il mio palato questo ristorante sarà cancellato dalla...
