Al Mulino Ristorante Pizzeria — Restaurant in Pragelato

I don't usually write reviews- in fact this is the first time I have written a google review- but this restaurant stands out and I want to recognize the quality of the food and staff. My family and I traveled to Italy from the United States to watch our oldest daughter compete in the 2025 World University Games as a Nordic skier In January 2025. We went to this restaurant 3 times during our stay. We dined at 2 other restaurants in the area- they were more expensive and provided a lesser experience. Each time the food, service and setting were outstanding at Al Mulino. We ate pizza, pasta, and dessert each time. The pizza and pasta were the best I have eaten. The desserts were excellent too. On our last visit we also ordered vegetable soup and gnocchi- as expected they were just as good as everything else. The service was excellent. The restaurant was providing meals for the competing athletic teams but still provided excellent service to us. We speak minimal Italian but we felt very welcomed and everyone was very patient with us. The setting is quaint, inviting and comfortable. Were seated outside in the beautiful garden setting. Had a typical antipasti of salami and different cheeses to start followed by a carbonara, risotto and for dessert a semi freddo and yoghurt with meringue, honey and walnuts. Mi spiace molto fare questa recensione perché è davvero un ottimo ristorante di montagna, con pizza buonissima, la migliore della zona, camerieri gentili, posto incantevole. Il motivo della mia valutazione negativa è dovuto alla difficoltà nel prenotare. Io vivo a Torino e ho i ritmi frenetici di una grande città, se riesco a trovare un minuto per prenotare giorni prima la pizzeria è un miracolo già di per sé e non mi va che rispondano dicendomi che è il loro giorno di chiusura e di richiamare il giorno seguente. E se riesco nel secondo miracolo di richiamare il giorno dopo che poi mi venga detto che sono in servizio, impegnatissimo e di richiamare.... Ma cavolo se rispondi prendila la prenotazione, cosa ti costa?! Capisco che i ritmi di chi viva in montagna siano diversi da quelli di chi corre in città, che difficilmente riesce a fare 2/3 telefonate al momento giusto, nel giorno giusto e, possibilmente, in assoluta tranquillità del gestore,na cavoli... Consiglio, per esempio, di inserire una segreteria con un numero whatsapp per le prenotazioni, poi da confermare. In questo modo i clienti possono prenotare quando riescono, anche a notte fonda, e il gestore non viene disturbato in servizio o nei giorni di chiusura.
