Our wonderful campsite, Camping Toblacher See (reviewed separately), is home to two restaurants: the fine-dining Hebbo (also reviewed separately) and this more relaxed but equally scenic spot, Seeschupfe.
After completing the breathtaking Tre Cime di Lavaredo Loop, we were far too tired to cook—so we let Seeschupfe take care of dinner. And what a great decision it was!
The restaurant is stunningly located right on the lakeshore of Toblacher See, with unforgettable views across the water and towards the dramatic peaks of the Dolomites. We sat on the lakeside terrace (there’s also indoor seating), enjoying the peaceful setting.
The menu offered plenty of tempting options, but we both went for pizza. Service from the young team was excellent—friendly, efficient, and relaxed. I chose the Montanara Pizza: Tomato, mozzarella, porcini mushrooms, sausage, smoked scamorza, and oregano. It was smoky, earthy, and deeply satisfying—the perfect comfort food after a long hike.
Eating great pizza outdoors, with a glass of wine and those spectacular views, was the perfect end to a perfect Dolomites day. Highly recommended.

Pricey food not really matching the quality of the offer: the “Piatto Tirolese” literally came with a 4cm sausage, one canederli, and a super-dry slice of roasted pork ham…not worth 25€.
But what really annoyed me was the arrogance and lack of customer care of the head waiter. We sat outside and soon realized it was getting cold and kindly asked for a table inside. The answer we got was very dismissive and vague, alluding to a potential “tilt” of the restaurant in case of such a change. Also, we were told that likely there were no available indoor tables but the waiter would check.
After 15 mins with no reply nor feedback from the waiter, I asked for a follow up and got a “no available tables inside sorry “…too bad that when I went inside to use the washroom, there were plenty of available tables…
The desserts were noteworthy in all fairness.
Overall, a bit more of customer obsession and care for the main dishes would make a big difference here.

Read moreI recently dined at this restaurant and my experience was less than satisfactory.
On the positive side, the restaurant offers a beautiful view overlooking the lake, which adds to the ambiance of the dining experience. The staff speaks impeccable English, but unfortunately, their attitude came across as slightly arrogant. We did not feel welcomed at all, quite the opposite.
However, the main issue lies with the high prices and the mediocre quality of the food. The dishes were at best average in taste and quite overpriced.
To make matters worse, we were surprised to find out that we were charged for the cover “coperto” four times, even though there were only two of us dining. This discrepancy only became apparent after we had left the restaurant, and I suspect that this may be a common practice in this highly touristy area. It is truly disappointing to see how customers are treated for the sake of a few euros.
Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to others based on...
