Last night, I visited this small, charming Italian restaurant with four friends. It was recently taken over by a lovely couple just two weeks ago. The atmosphere was warm and intimate: the wife takes care of the service with genuine kindness, while the husband works his magic in the kitchen, and what a fantastic chef he is.
What stood out immediately was their focus on local ingredients. The antipasti featured a delicious selection of regional cheeses and cured meats, all full of flavor and served at the perfect temperature. Each pasta dish was carefully prepared, cooked to perfection, and simply spot on.
The second courses were centered around meat, some grilled, others slow-cooked. Everything was seasoned just right, and the chef took the time to explain the dishes, including a changing menu alongside the fixed one, which made the experience even more personal.
Dessert was a true highlight. The homemade tiramisu was light and creamy, and the cantuccini were wonderfully crisp and fresh.
The wine list is impressively extensive, offering a beautiful selection of wines from the Chianti region. The hostess was knowledgeable and helped us choose the perfect pairing.
All in all, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates authentic Italian cuisine, lovingly prepared and thoughtfully served. You can taste the passion in every bite, this place is a true...
Read moreWe tried to eat at La Vin’Osteria today, but had no luck and a terrible experience overall. As we pulled up, we confirmed they were open with a sign on a bike at the front door noting: “Aperto, Open”. We parked across the street in their dedicated parking lot, walked up to the door and found that it was locked. At that moment, 5-6 people across the street in the parking lot we just left started yelling at us the it was closed. It took us a moment to understand why they were yelling. We stood there for a moment looked around at the other options in the area (which there are none) and one of the women in the group started aggressively yelling at us about parking in the parking lot and not using the restaurant. We were TRYING to eat there! It said it was OPEN. These were clearly the owners or people that work at the restaurant. When they saw us pull up, get out of the car, walk past them and across the street, why didn’t they simply let us know that it was closed? Also, it would be helpful if they changed the sign to Non Aperto! We didn’t eat here, but based on this terrible customer service, I would...
Read moreThis place seems to have good reviews, but the three of us could not understand why. First of all we felt completely unwelcome. I tried to order something and he said no you won’t like that, order this instead, and he pointed to something for me so I ordered it without really looking because he kind of scared me. When it arrived, I took a bite and I couldn’t eat it. The taste was so awful…and I am very open minded and adventurous with food. We ordered a truffle appetizer dip which had no flavour of truffles… Truffle flavour should be very strong. He came back and shook his head at us because we hadn’t eaten most of our meals. This was the only meal through Italy that we did not enjoy. Honestly we couldn’t wait to leave. We also felt he was kind of making fun of us with other tables that spoke Italian. He would literally be standing at a table. Say something in Italian. They would all laugh and turn and look at us. But that could’ve been just in my mind because we were already very...
