Nuovo K2 ristorante — Restaurant in Ragalna

If you are looking for a real Sicilian experience K2 Nuovo is a must! I was here with my girlfriend for a couple of days in a B&B. We asked our B&B owner for a recommendation on good restaurant, he immediately told us that this was the place, grabbed his phone and called ahead. We invited him and he happily went along. We were welcomed by the owner/host Andrea, and pretty much the whole staff, were seated and started off with a lovely local wine and focaccia that was the best I have ever had. What followed was a nearly never ending line of plates of anti pasti like bruschetta, caponata, olives, couscous, ricotta in multiple ways, house made salami, and a few I can't remember or know the name of! Mind you this was the "starter". For the main course I had the tagliata di vitello that was perfectly seared, my girlfriend the local mushrooms from Mt. Etna also impeccable! While Andrea was chatting to us the whole time, the desert arrived, delicious tiramisu and ricotta cheesecake. After this I could barely walk but it was one of the best food experiences ever. We went back the day after to basically go through the same thing again, with the difference that we had the trofie hand rolled pasta with pesto.

So, perfect service and perfect food, and very affordable.

Next time i go to Sicily, I will call ahead to make a reservation because this will be my dinner the...

As a tourist visiting Sicily for the tenth time we decided to eat at nuovo k2 due to its high rating on trip advisor. We chose well. I had the rucola pizza and only got to eat half because the other guests wanted to try it as well :). We all loved it. Their rigatoni alla Norma, tagliata and other plates were exquisite. We loved the experience. But the cherry on the cake came later. Upon leaving we had car rental trouble and the brand new jeep wouldn't start. Went back into the restaurant to use the phone and the help we got from the owner and his staff was incredibly reassuring that people still care to give good service to their customers. Long story short the car rental people were not the latter kind of people and it took a local mechanic having a drink at the bar to fix it and getting us our way after almost 45 minutes of bad service call from fox car rental 24hr assistance.

Probably the story was superfluous but if I can get great food from people who care for their customers this much, I'm sold any day...

Found this restaurant by accident and the outcome was very positive. We arrived a bit late for lunch but the owner and his staff were waiting for us and once seated we started to experience some of the best local genuine food. We had a variety of antipasti and main course, everything was delicious. Service was also excellent with the owner and the waitress always attentive to our requests.
