We stopped for lunch after visiting Basilica of Sant'Apollinare in Classe. This restaurant is walking distance next door. My wife and I had parma ham sandwiches on wonderful homemade bread. They were quite good. Some of our travelling companions had the lasagna which they raved about. Our favorite was the homemade cream pie we had for dessert. It was sinfully good. If my wife hadn't stopped me, I would certainly had seconds. For lunch, the restaurants seems to attract an equal mix of tourists who had visited the Basilica and local workmen--something I view as a good sign. The food was wonderfully priced. We were on a tour and our guide recommended this place to us. We all agreed and so he booked some tables for us. I had the fixed price menu del giorno which was three courses plus a drink including beer. My meal was delicious and thoroughly worth the 12 euros I was charged. My wife had a sandwich which she also enjoyed. Strange thing was that those having the menu had to sit at a table with table cloth. Those not having the menu had to sit at tables without cloths!
