Maxervice Sicilian Wines — Restaurant in Ribera

I was driving by Ribera and thinking of Sicilian wines when I found Max’s wine shop on Google Maps. What’s a find. Max is a great guy, very personable, with an impressive knowledge about Sicilian wines and a nice selection of basic and select Sicilian wines from Etna and across Sicily. He also had a good selection of spirits, including Four Roses whisky and other top-shelf brands. Max spoke to my friend and me about Sicilian wines, his store, and about Sicily, allowing me to work on my Italian language skills. The rosato he sold us was great with our fish dinner and we are looking forward to enjoying the quality red he sold us, at a fair price, with our next meal. His shop is in a quiet neighborhood a few streets off the main but easy to find. I wish we had found Max sooner but we are headed to northern Sicily in the morning. I found this place on Google on the way to visit my cousin for dinner in Seccagrande. I walked in asking for some Nero D Avola and the owner was not about to just hand me any bottle. He wanted to know what we were eating and what types of wine I like and then led me to a wine he highly recommended. I then knew that this was THE place for a wine lover.
