Peppino Il Pescatore — Restaurant in Ricadi

What a disappointment for such a cute place in an incredible location. We stopped for Sunday lunch after a long walk along the coast. We asked about wine by the glass and were told they only serve house wine by the glass. Fortunately the red was quite nice. My husband ordered the fish fry. Everything had an aftertaste, some downright disgusting. We waited for the staff to notice that the dish wasn't being eaten. When finally they came over I politely explained the off taste and suggested perhaps the oil was old or that one piece was off and had spoiled the lot. The server (owner) said it was IMPOSSIBLE that there was anything wrong with our meal. Arguing with the customer?? Shame. No offer to replace it with something...

Da dove cominciare? Ci hanno consigliato questo posto persone locali che hanno prenotato per noi. Nonostante ciò, la nostra prenotazione non c'era e abbiamo dovuto aspettare che ci preparassero un tavolo. Una volta sedute abbiamo atteso oltre 20 minuti per ordinare, perché la cameriara ha dato precedenza a un tavolo da 8 nel pieno dell'indecisione. Al momento dell'ordinazione ci è stato detto di non ordinare i primi perché ci sarebbero stati oltre 30 minuti di attesa, a causa della precedenza data al tavolo da 8 persone, e che gli altri 3/4 del menù non c'erano. Esposto il nostro disappunto, la risposta è stata: "signora, guardi, le faccio uscire subito la pasta ché non voglio recensioni negative", il tutto con un tono sgradevole. Nel frattempo ha iniziato a piovere e tutti i tavoli sono stati spostati al coperto, tutti tranne il nostro. Mentre eravamo ancora in attesa, sono arrivati gli antipasti e ci hanno invitato a sederci a un tavolo non preparato e sporco (con tovaglioli usati vicino ai nostri piatti). Nei minuti a seguire abbiamo dovuto chiedere ripetutamente di apparecchiarci il tavolo, mentre mangiavamo con l'unica cosa a nostra disposizione: le mani. I primi, due paste alle vongole, erano completamente insipidi (mancava persino la sapidità tipica del frutto di mare) e pieni di gusci vuoti. Quando lo abbiamo fatto notare una delle cameriere ci ha proposto di rifarci il piatto, l'altra ci ha risposto con inappropriata ironia: "ve l'avevo detto di prendere il luccio". Abbiamo provato a mangiarli comunque, ma è stato impossibile. Alla richiesta della cameriera se poteva far qualcosa per noi, abbiamo fatto presente che i piatti, o almeno uno dei due, andassero tolti dal conto, ma purtroppo così non è stato: lo scontrino è solo passato da 66 a 60...

The restaurant is located at 30 meters from the beach. We went here multiple times during our holiday and absolutely loved the food, the atmosphere and the delicious wines!

The host and the waiters are amazing and kind people who will stop at nothing to provide each and everyone of their guests an amazing experience.

They have truly mastered their delicious dishes! I can definitely recommend the peppered mussels and the amazing seafood pasta’s!
