Some of the best dessert I've ever had. The first day we went, I had yogurt with my choice of 3 toppings and 1 sauce. The woman behind the counter spoke brilliant English, and was helpful in making sure I got exactly the dessert I wanted. She talked me through all the toppings and then doubled the quantity of the chocolate one after confirming that I only wanted 2 out of 3 possible choices. Flavours all balanced perfectly, and the sauces were also homemade, creamy and delicious. The gelato we had the next night was also knockout; they let us try a few different ones, and I don't even know the name of what I ended up with, but it was lemony, custardy and delicious. People complain about the portion sizes, but €3.50 for gelato that good is seriously decent...

Specifically, La Romana in Bellariva is quite far from famous restaurants or even hotels. Therefore, you come here if you know it exists. The quality of their ice-cream is extra-ordinary. I don't even remember the first ice-cream I've had here that little I was. When you take the waffle, you can put chocolate in it, before having the ice-creaming put on it. I generally go for pistachio and then change the second flavour: bacio di dama, hazelnut or cookie crumbles are my favourite. I do recommend keeping an eye on the flavour...
