Baita Sole Marmolada — Restaurant in Rocca Pietore

We ordered lunch and after 30mins waiting they told us that unfortunately 2 of the 2 meals we ordered were not in stock. Ridiculous how they lost our time! Either the waitress didn’t bring in the order on time or she forgot to tell us that the minestrone and the wurstel were not available! On top of the mistake they made the waitress was angry with us for wanting to leave (since both of our mains were cancelled and we didnt like anything else there)…. And as a result we didn’t have enough time to stop for lunch anywhere else....

This nice restaurant is placed in forest near skislope leading to Marmolada cabin lift station and has its own charm. The meals are tasty, beer good... Abbiamo scelto questa Baita a due minuti da Malga Ciapela per mangiare un boccone tra l’ascesa al ghiacciaio e la visita ai Serrai di Sottoguda. Questo ha un po’ ristretto i nostri tempi. Siamo venuti a prenotare alle 9 del mattino per vedere il posto che vi è piaciuto tanto per la posizione e la calma è la cortesia del proprietario anche se eravamo rimasti male nel momento in cui non ci ha tenuto il tavolo promesso perché convinto che sarebbe piovuto. Ci hanno spostato in veranda e alla fine, al dolce, in effetti è piovuto. Non abbiamo preso molte cose ma erano tutte abbondanti e buonissime: in 4 un antipasto speck e formaggio, un piatto di spatzle, due contorni (verza con mele stupenda e rösti di patate molto gustosi), un piatto di würstel e patatine per mia figlia e due fette di strudel. Tre birre, un’acqua e tre caffè per 85€. Tanto? Poco? Il posto si paga, la qualità pure. Non si paga il coperto, ma il cestino del pane. Speriamo di tornare...
