L'Abruzzese — Restaurant in Rome

We visited L’Abruzzese last night as we were staying nearby and feeling a bit peckish. From the moment we walked in, we felt so welcomed – the atmosphere is lovely, and the staff are incredibly friendly.

We started with the bruschetta and the aglio e olio bruschetta – honestly, it was the best tomato bruschetta we’ve ever had! For mains, I had the penne arrabbiata, which was fresh, spicy, and absolutely delicious, while my partner had the ham pizza. Our plates were spotless within minutes – that’s how good it was.

Even though we were full, we couldn’t resist dessert. The owner kindly recommended some options, and we went with the pistachio chocolate cake. It was light, absolutely delicious, and the perfect finish to the meal. As we were leaving, the staff took the time to chat with us, which made the experience even more personal and memorable.

We enjoyed it so much that we’re going back again this morning before heading home to Ireland tonight. Thank you for such a wonderful experience – we would love to come back...

Ero cliente affezionata, molti anni fa, del vecchio Trento e Trieste, sulla Trionfale. I due figli del proprietario hanno in gestione questo locale che ho ritrovato dopo anni, consigliata da gente del quartiere di Monte Mario. Un locale ampio e spazioso, con un comodo parcheggio esterno, luminoso e dall'atmosfera familiare e gradevole. Carne, pesce, pizzeria: tre tipi di cucina eccellenti. Abbiamo cenato in cinque, sperimentando porzioni generose e gustose, mangiando antipasti misti mare e terra, che sembravano non finire mai, che spaziavano garantendo assaggi saporiti e vari, primi di pesce e tradizionali di cucina romana, dolci fatti in casa. Ho spiato i secondi agli altri tavoli, ma non potevamo davvero fare spazio anche a quello: si sentiva il profumo delle pietanze. Nonostante il ristorante fosse pieno, siamo stati serviti in tempi rapidi e con estrema simpatia da uno dei due ragazzi che gestisce il ristorante. La sorpresa, poi, nel conto. Oltre a un generoso sconto e ad averci offerto assaggi che non sono stati conteggiati, un rapporto qualità prezzo che oserei definire eccellente. The best restaurant! This is a local family restaurant that uses only fresh ingredients. The staff and owners and very friendly and the food is delicious. I always order the pizza it's delicious Roman the crust but even the pasta and everything on their menu...
