MAGA Cucina di Mare - Wine Bar — Restaurant in Rome

ˇThrough just dumb luck I went there during one afternoon with my wife. We were really hungry and looking for place to eat,

we happend to be late and their kitchen was just closed. Nether the less we were greeted with warm smiles and they still managed to make us a steak with potatoes with blistering speed.

We were supprised and happy to have found this place and decided to go there also for dinner, just to see what they offer then when their kitchen is open.

And o boy what dinner we had. The BEST food experience during our stay in Italy! I recommend highly! My wife had Tuna and me a Whitefish and both dishes were super tasty. The Tuna had this unbelievable crust to die for, yummy.

Just be sure to try and book the table in advance, as place that good is very popular. We wanted to go there for third time on our last evening in Italy, but this day it was completely sold out with no available tables. We were sad.

Had a wonderful, truly memorable meal here! We came for an aperitivo and stayed for dinner, and what a great decision! The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly, the food was fabulous, and there was a fun and engaging neighborhood crowd on the patio- we felt like members of the family! Our waiter did an excellent job of explaining the menu, which they create daily based on the fish they buy that morning. It includes a variety of unique, local fish that we had never tried before (but were great) and some creative preparations, with really beautiful plating. Our favorites were the blue shrimp crudo, the scallop with beet purée and guanciale chips, and the tuna belly that was crusted in pistacchio and topped with spicy honey. It was amazing! It was far too hot in Rome so I came to Ostia to enjoy the beach and fresh seafood. On my hunt I found this restaurant. The service was welcoming and the warm, every dish on the menu sounded brilliant. I had oysters and also octopus to start, both were fantastic, the oysters were fresh and presented beautifully & the octopus was perfectly cooked with an amazing red sauce with a hint of spice. For my main I had pistachio crusted tuna with honey, it was delicious and beautifully presented again. A 10/10 for food & service, I will definitely be back when I'm here next.
