I really cannot get all the excitement about this place. After reading reviews and considering mentions in the Michelin (as per Da Barbara data, not verified) throughout several years in a row we were really excited to go to this place. We have just arrived to Sardegna and have had luck to experience only one restaurant in the North of Sardegna before visiting Da Barbara. Bread was served first and that was first disappointment. Not tasty at all. I have ordered pasta with a fresh crab meat and was quite shocked to see it was brought to me as this: chops of crab shell mixed with pasta. How come can Michelin listed restaurant bring it like this? I had an awkward mission to extract all the meat from the shells during the dinner and not to spill myself and my friends with tomato sauce from pasta. Since crab itself was fresh it was hard to spoil so the meat itself was OK. Serving of antipasti brought a feeling it was bought in a supermarket nearby and just served as we have bought same salami/cheese thereafter. So summing up the value for the price is nil. I got a strong feeling like the restaurant was sold some time ago to new owners that capitalise on the hype of previous achievements. We have later discovered agro-tourism spots whereas fresh local food is served. There I can give 100 out of 100 for value for money and experience. So for the money in Da Barbara you can have two to three rich and super tasty dinners in local agro-tourism...
Read moreWent there after many good reviews online. Ordered a plate of fried sea food and thought I saw a hair in it... didn’t tell my family as I didn’t want to ruin the meal so I just jumped to the next dish that was the spaghetti with sea food... it was amazing. I even shared with my daughter and by the middle of the place I saw another hair. Could not eat anymore and called a waiter to say what I’ve found. He removed both of our plates and never returned to the table to say sorry, offer one more plate of spaghetti, nothing... the manager came to ask if we wanted desert but after that we asked for the bill. At the check out my husband tried to speak to her about the hair in the food and all she did was shrug her shoulder at us. As if it was normal. We paid full price for everything and I ate half a main course with hair in it....
Read moreABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. One of the BEST restaurants in southern Sardinia, on the way to Solanas Beach. This little yet exceptional restaurant does simple dishes to perfection with TZIA MARIA at the helm in the kitchen. The restaurant is family run for many decades. The fish is the freshest of the fresh. They have a display type window showcasing their fish and lobsters. They also bring to the table the fish you selected before its cooked also for your assurance. The dishes arrive rustic and simple but cooked perfectly. When ingredients are so good you dont need to do much with it. Less is more is true here. You must visit the restaurant and eat here. I would recommend booking as it fills up fast with people queuing at the door. Prices are also extremely reasonable. Highly...
