We came across it halfway through a cycling morning with the temperature hitting 34 degrees, it is fair to say we were not in the best clothing or condition for a high quality lunch. However, the staff at the venue were so welcoming, warm and friendly we were welcomed in our cycling attire. Everything about the lunch was of the highest quality from the stunning venue, the knowledge of the staff and quality of the wine from the estate. The highlight however was the food, we were promised the 'Mr Pigeon' with fig and onion was the best on the menu, if not the best in the universe. This was absolutely the case. The dish was delightful, well balanced and with gorgeous flavours. As we were cycling, we only ordered a main dish and wine but we were given a complementary amuse-bouche and a mini dessert which were also stunning. Thank you to both of the restaurant staff who we met and made our lunch even more enjoyable. I wish I had asked your names, maybe when I return. Read moreThis was, without a doubt, the best restaurant I visited during my trip to Italy. I actually ended up having dinner here on both nights I was in the area. On the first evening, I ordered à la carte from the regular menu. On the second night, I came back as part of the «Winery Tour & Gourmet Dinner» experience offered by Castello di Gabbiano, and enjoyed a full course meal with wine pairing.
Both dinners were absolutely fantastic. The staff were genuinely kind and full of good energy, which made the experience even more memorable. Our whole family agreed that this was the best restaurant of our entire trip.
Out of all the wonderful dishes, the ones that truly stole my heart were the «scallop, peas, mortadella, and onion ice cream» from the first night, and the «crispy beef, honey mustard, and pickled vegetables» from the second. Unforgettable flavors.
I don’t know when we’ll get the chance to come back to Italy all together again, but if we do, this is the first place I want to revisit. It was such a meaningful and unforgettable experience.
