We had a lovely family dinner at this charming restaurant in San Donato, just a short walk from the piazza. Traveling with two kids, we really appreciated how welcoming and friendly the young staff were — they made us feel right at home. Kids were served first. They even prepared a fresh salad for us that wasn’t on the menu, which was a really thoughtful touch.

The highlight of the meal was definitely the mix of desserts — a delicious and beautifully presented variety that everyone at the table loved. All of this at a very affordable price, which made the experience even better.

We were visiting family in San Donato on April 30th and as vegans were a bit worried about our food options. As soon as we sat down in Osteria Ficcanaso, we were greeted warmly by the waiter and were immediately put at ease. The chef made a vegan carpaccio off the menu that was literally one of the best things I have eaten in my entire life. They also veganized a risotto for us which was incredible.
