Dined at Osteria Setteponti twice during an extended stay in the Tuscany Region. Dining there was exceptional since as was the attention.
The food was so rich and natural. We learn that the family spends most of the day preparing the food and receiving fresh ingredients. Everything is cooked fresh! That is why the food is out of this world. I also strongly recommend their desserts which are to dye for. A MA ZING!
The ambiance was inviting, the food a culinary masterpiece, but what truly set the evening apart was our host, Eleonora (She is adorable). She radiated warmth and professionalism, ensuring our evening was unforgettable. Eleonora, Federico, Leonardo and their Mom (the outstanding Chef!) are true professionals, and that is why in my opinion Osteria Setteponti is the best restaurant in San Giovanni Valdarno and its surroundings.

This place is unique as they do fresh seafood and fish as well some great hand made pastas and some very interesting dishes simply not available in the area. Really like the attentive friendly service and the value for money. Good selection of wines at afforfable price levels. The menu is seasonal and they always come up with some unique dishes. The prawn tartar, the gnocchi with gamberi, raw scampi, tortelli nero with seafood, tortelloni gorgonzola, the scoglio, rombo con patate is to die for as are the hand made deserts. The service was great. The atmosphere was wonderful and the food was delicious. Our only issue was that when my husband ordered his fillet medium, it came rare. He hesitantly sent it back and it was barely cooked a little more. He didn't dare send it back a second time, as he didnt want to offend the chef. That being said, we brought his fillet back to our rental for me to finish cooking it. We are not sure if this is a European thing, so now he will order his beef very well done, for the rest of out trip,...
