can't imagine not discovering Antonio's La Perla, it really makes this area! my boyfriend and i stayed just down the street and saw the raving reviews. needless to say, after our first meal, we were committed. Toni comes to great us and asks exactly what were in the mood for, from there he prepares the most authentic dishes for us. we came here 2 days in a row and felt it was only fair to wander off and try other restaurants in the area - but nothing compared. he really set the standards and naturally we compared every meal to his! his pastas and ingredients are so fresh and flavourful. you can taste the love and dedication he puts into his cooking! on top of that, he absolutely does not overcharge like other establishments in busy areas, like Sorrento and Capri. other restaurants simply weren't up to par. if only we could bring him home with us (we offered but he kindly declined). we can't wait to be back to Italy and the next time we are, you bet we'll come by just to have a meal. if you can't tell already, we highly recommend, even if you're staying in Sorrento or along the Amalfi Coast - it's 1000% worth the short 20 minute drive! better yet, we recommend staying in this area, away from all the tourists and traffic of the...
Read moreWe arrived to the area late on Sunday for a weeks stay for a wedding and found the shop over the road closed. I went into La Perla and asked Tony the owner if he had some pasta I could buy. “No, but come with me...”. I paid some money that Tony didn’t want to take which I later realised was way too little. This was one of the best lasagna I have ever had. My family and parents ate it over the next couple of days and I returned the baking tray with gratitude. It was such a shame we couldn’t eat at the trattoria...
Grazie Tony, your generosity was one thing but the food was something else. We’ll definitely look you up next time we’re in Sorrento and if ever in London let me return...
Read moreMy wife and I found La Perla while driving into the Amalfi Coast region of Italy from Tuscany on our most recent Italy vacation some months back.
Tony, the owner and chef and his family and their wonderful team greeted us so warmly upon our first visit. Tony came to sit with us as we arrived, talked about many things, then proceeded to deliver exceptional home cooked Italian dishes, combined with some outstanding local wine.
We were in the region for seven nights, and ate at La Perla four of those nights.
A true memorable dining and outstanding life experience to feel Italy from a truly local perspective.
Thank you so much folks! We love you all for creating such a wonderful experience and...
