What an experience. We just happened to be around the corner from here, and we were a little dubious of good reviews as we'd had some mixed experiences dining out in Sorrento. However Moonlight was fantastic. We we went on a Saturday night and got seated (party of 2 at around 9pm) in the covered outdoor area. The service from start to finish was excellent. We asked for a wine recommendation and got exactly what we wanted. First we were offered a tasty little ham mouse entree. We shared Burrata and Parma ham to start, extremely creamy Burrata. Came with a bread basket, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We then shared the special pasta of lobster linguine. Probably my favourite pasta I've ever had in a restaurant. We then had the rack of lamb which had a lovely pistachio crust, and the peppercorn sauce fillet steak. Both were lovely. We ordered chips and grilled vegetables on the side (they did not come with them, just broccoli which was a little overcooked). We were so impressed that we decided to share the pistachio profiteroles for dessert. They were also nice. Overall it was a great experience and we'd definitely recommend. Although the price point is steeper than other restaurants we looked at, it was more than worth it in our opinion.

One of the best meals we've had in Italy! This family-run restaurant served up incredible food and warm hospitality. The mother and daughter took care of us with such kindness, the son made our drinks behind the bar, and the father cooked everything to perfection in the kitchen. The front of the restaurant is lined with lemon trees and fresh herb plants overflowing from a terracotta border wall. Absolutely special! We started with a tagliere of local salumi and cheeses and a classic insalata caprese, followed by trofie del bosco and gnocchi alla sorrentina -- both bursting with flavour (side note - possibly the best tomato i've ever had) Our main, the filetto di pesce alla brace, was perfectly grilled and full of smoky, fresh taste. We finished with a limoncello tiramisù and two smooth espressos. A beautiful, authentic experience - don't miss this place if you're in Sorrento!

The restaurant was mostly empty. We were next to a table with very loud patrons. I did t understand why this seating arrangement was made when there were so many open tables. We had the linguine with lobster special they were advertising that day. We had to handle the half lobster shell with pasta sauce on it to get the meat out of the claws, and there were no lobster forks, so again a hand was needed along with the dinner fork to remove the tail meat, then off to the bathroom to wash our hands. Finally we have our meal ready to eat, and it's cold because so much time was wasted on prepping the shellfish. The flavors were good, but it would have been better if the lobster had been picked by the chef.

Came here on Monday night and was really disappointed. It was immediately a bad vibe when we came in, it was very quiet and felt a bit uncomfortable. Then i had to ask three times for a bottle of water (i was really thirsty), which was a bit frustrating. There were quite a lot of mistakes with our order - we didn't get the seafood soup we ordered, we got the wrong gnocchi, and my risotto was completely plain even though i was told it had vegetables in it.

I understand that there was a communication issue, which would have been okay if the waiter just apologised, but instead he approached us and blamed us like we were being difficult. Also we pointed to the right items on the menu so i dont know why there were so many mistakes.

Luckily the stuffed gnocchi with shrimp and the mussels were tasty, but the rest of our experience was very poor. Even when the proper meal was given to us, the waitress didn't say a word and looked annoyed. And then the waiters generally seemed to avoid us for most of the evening. Also, we were polite to them the whole time.

Maybe it was just an off night, because most of the reviews are good, but i was really disappointed, especially as it was my boyfriend's birthday. I thought it was pretty cheeky to also add the mistakes made onto our bill at the end of the night and cause such a fuss in the restaurant. The waiter just seemed really arrogant and it was embarrassing in front of the rest of...

The main take-away, hoho, from our meal was that everything was too salty and too oily and the fish was not fresh and quite tough. . Sitting here now back home I can still taste it. The service was friendly and it's nice to sit outside. The free limoncello and my starter of marinated fish were good. The side veg was stone cold. When we asked they offered to heat up but isn't that too late? They served up a pretty orange aperol mix on sitting down. Bit too warm but mainly there was no explanation of what it might be, nor any explanation of the teaspoon of white stuff also presented as an amuse bouche. Is it custard? Mustard? Anyway, We drank a bit and then asked 3 times to take the glasses away. Everyone else near us left it as well and they sat there getting warm on their table. Finally the menu arrived as a qr code only. Requesting a menu you could look at properly gave us one menu and one iPad. Maybe im getting old but a phone is a terrible way to review a long menu if that's the default choice. So the mains: The veg was swimming in oil, the fish was swimming in oil, the fish came with extra oil in a little dish...just in case? The pasta was salty, the pasta sauce was salty, the pork in the pasta sauce was salty. Overall Better options in the...
