Via Di Fuga — Restaurant in Sant'Alessio Siculo

Via di Fuga is my favorite places to have drinks and hang out in Sant'Alessio. I've been there at least half a dozen times and I'm never disappointed. The staff are courteous and the owner takes pride in her unique bar/restaurant. She runs a tight ship and manages to keep the quality levels high. There's no place like it in Sant'Alessio for ambience and food offerings.

Keeping a business running in Sant'Alessio is not easy since the tourism drops off sharply after August. Yet Veronica is doing her best to keep things moving and I'm buying as many drinks as I can to do my part :-).

In an area where everyone is pretty much doing the same thing, with the same traditional dishes, and the same menu, Via di Fuga is a refreshing and unique place...

This place looked so lovely. We decided to call in for a drink as it was my wife's birthday. Don't bother after 35minutes I had to complain as no drinks had arrived. Then I had to go to the bar to and for another drink of beer. I asked both the bar person and waitress and they both said yes, they'd bring the drinks over. After 25 minutes still no drinks. The bar staff were just standing there doing nothing. Absolutely useless organisation, no manager there taking charge. I just don't understand how they can be so poorly organised. Dire che sono delusa è dire poco. Ci sono stata diverse volte l anno scorso e dunque sono tornata perché mi ero trovata benissimo. Partiamo dal presupposto che i prezzi sono aumentati per quanto riguarda il cibo. Abbiamo preso 2 Hugo e 2 Negroni. Praticamente nei cocktail la quantità di ghiaccio è assurda. Infatti assaggiando l Hugo che comunque è un cocktail leggero abbiamo notato che era acqua non aveva nessun gusto. Il negroni era leggermente meglio in quanto il cocktail in se stesso ha un sapore più forte quindi anche se c è tanto ghiaccio si sente meno. Abbiamo dunque riferito che gli Hugo non li volevamo e li abbiamo fatti sostituire con due spritz. Anche questi molto diluiti. Poi abbiamo preso due club sandwich che fino a questo momento erano davvero buonissimi. Li abbiamo mangiati solo per fame ma erano orrendi. Il toast asciutto come se fosse di giorni fa, che ovviamente piastrato si è anche indurito. Il tutto servito freddo. Le patatine di contorno erano asciutte e dure sembravano fritte nell olio 1040 ( olio motore ). Arrivati in cassa al totale non avevano nemmeno tolto i due Hugo che abbiamo restituito e quindi non bevuto. La barman ha avuto un atteggiamento arrogante come a dire che lei i cocktail li sa fare. Ovviamente facendo obiezione ha deciso di togliere 7€ da un totale di 97€ ( nemmeno mangiando pesce). Abbiamo fatto notare che avrebbe dovuto togliere anche il prezzo dell altro Hugo restituito e con un espressione alquanto schifata l ha fatto. Dunque pessima esperienza non...
