The food is okay, but nothing special. We went here twice. First time we went for dinner and the young waiters were friendly, but functional. They took our order, served drinks, food and then never checked in with us again. It was rather busy, so we could understand. The pizza was ok. It was a bit watery as I feel they put too many toppings on the pizza.

The day after we went for lunch and when we sat down, an older guy gave us the menu and just said: no pizza for lunch. That was all he said. We decided to go for a bruchatta and were ready to order. He annoyingly responded with: no pizza and he walked away. I don’t know what his problem is, but the place was empty besides us and another couple, so you’d think he would take some time to advice what is possible to order. In my point of view bread doesn’t equal pizza.

The restaurant had an extremely unfriendly staff. When we sat down, the waiters didn’t acknowledge us at all (it wasn’t a full house), and we waited specifically 15 minutes for them to bring the menu. Since we arrived an hour before closing, we wanted to order quickly—2 pizzas and 2 desserts at the same time—so we wouldn’t have to order dessert just before closing. They brought the pizzas quickly, which we ate, and then the waiter took the plates, but that was it. He didn’t ask anything. We assumed they would bring the dessert shortly. After waiting for 10 minutes, we realized that we weren’t going to get any dessert. So, disappointed, we asked for the bill and mentioned to the same waiter that the dessert was missed, but he didn’t really care and didn’t even apologize. We had our lunch today at L’Ancora, we had 1 misto pesce ( portions are enough to share) very generous and tasty. Fish was incredibly fresh and well cooked, as chef I would have cooked the octopus just few minutes less but just because my taste. Perfect seasoning. As main we got 1 spaghetti with vongole (clams) delicious, fresh and well cooked. Same for the caserecce alla menta, where the swordfish cubes were both firm and yielding, While a slightly thicker sauce would have been the maestro's final flourish, it did little to diminish the overall symphony of flavors. However I can’t complain at all for quality and consistency. The calamari fritti were perfectly fried in a flour tempura leaving the guest the quantity of salt to add at the table.
