Tourist trap that relies on location only. Very bad food and very overpriced. I ordered the grilled sepia (cuttlefish) - it was like eating rubber. Very overcooked. The service wasn’t great either (friendly though) - I ordered water, they brought a big bottle of water (even though they had small) - opened it, I had a small sip. The funny surprise came when they did not allow me take the bottle away with me! They said I have to purchase another small bottle to take away - the big bottle can only be used at the restaurant even though I barely drank from it. We keep coming back here as a family - in July 2023 this was a big favourite of ours and we visited frequently during our 2 week stay in Sicily. We’re back over the Easter holidays in 2025 and the food, wine and service is as fab as it was - which is to say amazing! We had the swordfish parmigiana, orecchiette with mixed fish and the incredible pasta with sardines! The Giasira Grillo is still delicious and the service is helpful and friendly! Ordino pepata di cozze e mi arriva la zuppa. Tra l'altro non erano nemmeno pulite bene. Polpo in tempura, stopposo e niente più. Spaghetti alla cernia. Piatto abbondante ma come per il polpo niente di particolare. Il secondo di mia moglie, tonno con cipolla rossa e caponatina discreto ma si rompe quasi un dente perché c'era ancora il nocciolo di un oliva. Dessert... sul menu del giorno c'era parfait di mandorle, ma la ragazza ci porta il menù fisso che non lo porta. Allora noi chiediamo i parfait, e ci guarda come se avessimo chiesto la luna, dicendoci che non c'è. Quindi ordiniamo i cannoli. Poi ricordandoci del menù del giorno chiediamo alla propietaria che ci dice di sì. Quindi le faccio notare che la cameriera non sapeva nemmeno cosa c'era nel menù del giorno. Comunque mi dice che porterà i parfait. Dopo 15 minuti finalmente, arrivano. Non so se erano parfait o 2 uova. Praticamente tutto sciolto. Per non parlare serviti con il cucchiaio già dentro il piatto, e ovviamente si era tutto sporcato. Servizio confusionario. Camerieri che "correvano", letteralmente. Non ho mai visto una cosa del genere in vita mia. Penso che uno vada in un ristorante anche per rilassarsi, e non per vedere camerieri che corrono. Per non parlare della propietaria che in dialetto ha detto una parola che sinceramente non puoi dire in un locale... allibbito!
