I don‘t understand the good reviews this restaurant has. We went here because we were limited with the food choices in Scilla, due to my friend being gluten intolerant. The staff said we could order anything and they would accommodate us which was great. The staff was also very attentive (granted, we were the only people in the restaurant at 19:30 - which should have been a first warning for us). The food was unseasoned and very disappointing! My friend had the pistachio pesto with prawns that weren‘t cooked. Raw, still cold frozen prawns on pasta - it‘s disgusting! I ordered a calamari/prawn plate with chips and a side salad. The chips and fish weren‘t flavourful and 14€ was a bit much for that, but hey, I added some vinegar and pepper and it was edible. The slap in the face was the side salad: the yellow part of an ice berg salad on a plate - no dressing, no tomatoes, no olives or herbs, nothing! Just some cut up ice berg leaves (and not even the big green juicy leaves) for 4€!! Are you actually kidding me!? I laughed out loud when I saw that. Never have I had bad food served for the price in an establishment that otherwise makes a decent impression.

The food here is insanely delicious! Of the 14 top restaurants I dined in Scilla I kept coming back here! Nothing compared to the incredible service and consistently delicious food. As a solo diner I was never once pushed to the side or neglected attentive service. The price is well worth the portions and incredible taste. I cannot hype this place up enough. Had to write a review so people know this is the best spot in Scilla. Bogdan, Adnane, and the owners are incredibly kind and professional. The beautiful evening ambiance with twinkling lights great, great view of the mountains, sunset on the water, and the high class white table cloth dining experience amazing. The seafood rotated and was always so fresh! Mama Mia!

An open-air restaurant overlooking the bay. La Perla Nera offers an unusual menu choice with tuna & chocolate or swordfish with almonds. I would recommend their tasting starter where you get lots of tasty bites of all sorts. The black buns are especially tasty. Probably typically of Italy, a main course comes with exactly and only what it says on the menu, so if you'd like chips or salad, etc, to go with it, then order that too. Reasonably priced and helpful staff.
