I went into the Da Teodora restaurant with my cousin today, Tuesday, October 10th 2023.||We had a reservation and were the first lunchtime customers of the day. The owner immediately opened a bottle of Prosecco and offered us a glass each (and one for him too, of course!). ||We sat at one end of the small locale and bread, sparkling water and a bottle of the house Cabernet arrived very quickly. We started with an antipasto of salamis that simply melted in the mouth! There was no menu as such and you simply had to eat what was brought to the table!! The primo arrived and it was some some of spinach (I think) risotto with a mystery accompaniment that seemed to be some sort of stuffed ravioli. When I asked what we had been given, the owner was adamant that ge was not going to tell us!!||The surroundings are unusual to say the least, being mostly a museum of Mussoini and Italian fascism era artefacts and to that great Sequals legend Primo Carnera, the pre-war world heavyweight champion. The owner was a font of knowledge of Carnera and explained his life and career to us. The chef is the owns wife and first cousin of Primo Carnera.||The owner introduced us to a couple of tourists from Pennsylvania. ||Anybody daring to ask for a menu was greeted with a mallet upon which was written "menu"! I quickly learned not to ask again.||The music was fascist era tunes like 'Faccietta Nera' and 'Giovinezza'.||A unique place, for sure.||The food was of the highest order.||We were offered and accepted an Amretto del Duce and I was given a Grappa del Duce to go with my espresso.||I left half drunk!||I cannot wait to go...
