WOW, just WOW! We have eaten in several good restaurants before but never left a review before… this time it is absolutely needed though, so here it comes! First, we started with the ‚Rustico’ aperitivo - amazing variety of local food (as the owner told us later - most of the ingredients were from his own garden, including hand-picked olives!). Pizza (porchinni mashrooms, bacon, rocket, parmesan) and pasta (pistacchio & shrimps tagliatelle) later were also great. We paid only €30 for a massive aperitivo, pizza, pasta and a liter of wine. Franco the owner picked us up from our accommodation and dropped us off home again after (including an impromptu tour of the village on the way). The food was very very good, and great value. The food was superb, and the owner, despite speaking limited English, was extremely welcoming and kind. He sent us on our way with a bottle of cold water and granita on the house.
I highly recommend stopping by here to eat if you find yourself in this part of Sicily. The nearby town of Sutera looked attractive, and the castle at Mussomeli, a fantastical ruin of a Norman castle, is only a...
