Grand Café Opera — Restaurant in Termini Imerese

I’ve asked for anything sweet without milk (I went both to Gran Cafe Opera and Gran cafe Opera gluten free…. Same answer: every single sweet has milk. I find it very hard to believe but ok. I write this review in the hope that management can try to improve and add at least one item for us poor lactose intolerant (or to train their personnel if they already have things without milk and just don’t know 😉).

They made the best cheesecake I’ve eaten in my entire life. It’s been 4 years since I ate it and I still think about how amazing it was. I once talked about how delicious, decadent and perfect it was for an hour straight. My friends banned me from talking about it to them. I still can’t stop talking about it. If you’re questioning whether you should spend 30 euros on a cake the answer is yes! I’d spend $2,000 to fly back to Sicily to get another cheesecake...

Tutto pessimo, a partire dal servizio: caotico, non si capisce niente e molto maleducati. Ordiniamo una granita con brioches, andiamo al bancone per prenderle e nessuno ci calcola per almeno 10/15 minuti nonostante in quel momento nella parte gelateria non ci fosse nessuno in coda. Cercavamo di farci notare ma ancora nessuno sguardo o segno che volessero servirci. Finalmente dopo un po' una ragazza ci calcola e con fare molto scocciata ci dice di attendere ancora, chiedendoci cosa facessimo li, se avessimo ordinato. Comunichiamo l'ordine, con tanto di scontrino in mano, decide di farci aspettare ancora e finalmente prepara l'ordine, a metà: ci serve solo le granite. Alché le faccio notare che mancavano le brioches e anziché scusarsi, ci chiede con fare arrogante "ma le avete pagate???" Dopo che, ripeto, avevamo lo scontrino in mano che manco si è degnata di leggere talmente era scocciata di servirci.

Cibo: le granite erano pessime e avevano solo due tipologie: fragola e limone. In Sicilia. Prendiamo quella alla fragola e ahimé erano palesemente andate a male. Le Brioches almeno erano decenti, ma probabilmente non fresche. Sono stata spesso in Sicilia e sinceramente non ho mai trovato una granita con brioche più pessime, me lo aspetterei al nord...
