Montelago — Restaurant in Ternate

We ordered pizza, a cheeseburger and a risotto. Sadly only the pizza was edible. The risotto had a piece of metal in it, and the cheeseburger cannot be described as a burger. It was two half buns with tomato slices, an ultraprocessed beef patty and a slice of cheese on top. No dressing, no taste. No condiments. We had to ask for ketchup just to add some flavour.

Despite gently letting them know that I didn’t want to finish the risotto or have them make me a new one (lost my appetite and the trust in the kitchen), and my son gave up on eating the burger, we still paid full price.

Kurzfazit Fantastische Küche in traumhafter Seelage, sehr aufmerksamer Service und eine erstaunlich breite Speisekarte. Bis auf kleine Details beim Abend-Ambiente war alles auf Top-Niveau. Das Montelago Ristorante Pizzeria direkt am Lago di Comabbio überzeugt schon beim Ankommen: Die Terrasse liegt quasi auf Augenhöhe mit dem Wasser, der Blick aufs glitzernde See-Panorama ist spektakulär (5/5). Innen herrscht eleganter Trattoria-Stil - warmes Holz, große Fenster, geschmackvolle Deko – nur ein Tick mehr Raffinesse bei der Abendbeleuchtung würde das Ambiente vollends perfektionieren (4/5).

Küche: Speisekarte (5/5): erfreulich vielfältig – von knusprigen Pizze aus dem Steinofen über frische Seefisch-Gerichte bis hin zu kreativen Antipasti. Qualität (4–5/5): Teig luftig, Belag großzügig; Dorade und Lachs perfekt gegart; hausgemachte Tiramisu & Panna Cotta sind ein Muss. Weinkarte (5/5): regionale Lombardei-Weine plus solide Auswahl aus dem Piemont; faire Kalkulation.

Service (5/5): Das Team ist aufmerksam, erklärt geduldig die Tagesempfehlungen und bringt die Gänge zügig (Wartezeit 5/5). Sonderwünsche – z. B. Pizza halb/halb oder glutenfreie Pasta – wurden ohne Zögern erfüllt.

Preis-Leistung (5/5): Angesichts Lage, Portionsgröße und Qualität absolut stimmig.

ordinato x 2 persone minimo l'antipasto misto salumi "locali", che si presentava bene all'arrivo a tavola: i frittini erano buoni e vari, apprezzata la salvia in pastella che quasi mai viene proposta in giro; con gli affettati non ci siamo proprio: la coppa era secca e sapeva di salume aperto da qualche giorno, la bresaola aveva tutta la parte esterna secca (anche qui doveva aver preso aria), salame e mortadella avevano sia l'aspetto che il taglio che il sapore di affettato da vaschetta di scarsa qualità. Si salvavano solo la pancetta e il crudo, ma nulla di eccezionale. Per Euro 14 a testa di antipasto (che non è poco) è una caduta inaccettabile, è inutile proporre un tagliere con mille affettati se non ne puoi garantire la freschezza; piuttosto ne tieni pochi sottovuoto e li affetti al bisogno, preferisco un tagliere meno ricco ma con prodotti freschi. Sono uno che mangia di tutto e diffilmente si lamenta e che non lascia nulla nel piatto, ma qui li ho dovuti avanzare. Il primo invece era un risotto di buona fattura, ma di non azzeccato abbinamento, con una bourgignonne di coniglio che era asciutta e salata. Piatto finito ma a fatica.

In conclusione è un peccato perchè il locale è veramente caratteristico con la sua forma tonda, con travi a vista e ampie vetrate sul lago; ben arredato e curato, offre un atmosfera tranquilla e intima. Onestamente però non...
