Never again, Americans beware! Nothing special and not what I’m used to since I live on the coast. Absolutely possible to get better prices and better quality but you get what you can take this far inland I guess. Is this plate of pasta worth €20 to you? It’s a good €8 more than it would be on the coast of Naples.. Fish was not good and tasted muddy. Regarding the picture, I honestly thought this portion had been split between me and my friend but this is the entire portion.. so we each paid €20 for a plate of pasta that looked like a half portion. Two appetizers two pastas and two fried calamari‘s later as well as some house wine and a bottle of water is €90… This is the most I have paid for lunch anywhere near Naples. You eat close to the base and you pay inflated prices. Also no air-conditioning so prepare to sweat! I could see paying €75-€80 for this lunch, and I think that would be expensive, but 90 is unforgivable! Not for an environment without air-conditioning!! You really do have to be careful as an American when you eat someplace that has an American flag. Also, I spoke to them in Italian the entire time so just know that the English is limited. Calamari was overly thick and soggy. My friend didn’t even finish his! When I pointed out that €90 was expensive for lunch, the response I got was “you eat well then you pay well“ but my response is, I did not eat well enough to justify these prices. Never again....

It has happened to me once and my friend last night. She was overcharged by a healthy amount. When she called it out they brought « the new menu » which had white pen and ink stickies over the prices. They showed her it was « fair ». But not from the menu she was given when we entered the restaurant. They also charged for limoncello which is supposed to be free on the menu. By all means go! The food and service is awesome! But pay close attention...
Read moreOur waiter was very friendly and our food was very delicious! We had the fried calamari and shrimp. Large portion of calamari, perfectly fried, but very small shrimp. But they were good! The zuppa di cozze (mussel soup) was a very big serving and very delicious! It also had some piccolo vongole (clams) and one big shrimp! Our Caprese salad was small, but very delicious. We didn’t expect to be charged 2€ for bread because we didn’t ask for it. Overall, we’ve been to Umbertos about 6 times and the food is always delicious. We have only gone for...
