Basaùra Beach Restaurant & Club — Restaurant in Tortolì

Very poor service provided by the owner/manager of this restaurant. We were one of the first guests since opening. No word of welcome from this gentleman. He just raise question who came here first- we or the other couple. When he realised that we can't speak Italian turned around and head to serve different table. Portions were really small. Steak was bone dry and hard to chew. Mix of fishes turns up to be tiny fillet, octopus and calamari. Doesn't come with any sort of garnish like fries or even salad or bread. Literally 3 or 4 tiny things left alone on the plate. Only good thing was plate of fried calamari. But still to small to be called portion.

We've ordered also two mojitos which were Literally ice alone. We ended up with 110 euro bill for 3 meals and 2 drinks. Left restaurant still hungry. Headed straigh to our camping restaurant to grab proper pizzas and other meals. Spending less than a quarter of what we spend here.

Avoid this place...

This restaurant is in a great location right on the beach, there are reserved parking spaces in front of the restaurant and the restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating with a beautiful view of the sea. The owner personally supervises everything, he is a true professional when it comes to food and wine. We ordered oysters, which were delicious in combination with lime and gambero rosso, which is a special type of red shrimp that we have a great weakness for, they are fantastically creamy and a real delicacy. The wine was excellent, from a winery that we visited afterwards. Finally we had an excellent dessert and coffee. We spent the afternoon on the beach in a restaurant with umbrellas and sun loungers. Although the beach is sandy, the water in the sea is crystal clear and you can see all the way to the bottom,...

Went here for dinner worh the family. Lovely remote setting just on top of the beach. Nice, clean and not too noisy. And (exceptional in the Arbatax region) no mosquitos of flies. The food was great. Exceptionally good seafood and great steak too. Well dressed plates, a joy to see. De deserts were home made and divine tasting.

The only thing...the service!!! If you are Italian, you will get excellent service. Small talk politeness, explaining all the types of fish available, extra options to the menu. I do think they were mistaking us for Dutch or even German tourists from the camping site nearby. We got the cold and hard treatment with the bill almost smashed on the table. We do speak a reasonable amount of Italian and try to be the bests guests we can be in a country. We felt we didn't deserve this kind...
