Al Chiosco in San Nicola was hands down the worst experience I had in Sicily. I ordered a Nutella crepe, and instead of opening a fresh container, the staff scraped the dried remains from an empty jar—resulting in a crepe with zero Nutella. The woman behind the counter couldn’t be bothered to do her job properly and spent 15 minutes loudly chatting with a coworker while we stood there waiting.
When we calmly asked for a refund for the untouched crepe, things escalated shockingly fast. The staff didn’t just say no — they raised their voices, argued with us aggressively, and flat-out refused to involve a manager or owner. Multiple employees jumped in to argue, turning what should’ve been a simple and respectful conversation into a completely uncalled-for confrontation.
I’ve never dealt with a more disrespectful or unprofessional group of workers in a food establishment. As a tourist, this was not only disappointing — it was infuriating. Save yourself the headache and skip this...

I let him do so much 1€ doesn't change my life but it allowed me to understand some things, one of the many “features” of this place. Obviously I told him he didn’t give me the right change but he pretended not to hear me………….. Update of July 24th: I’ve been invited in this horrible place by a close friend and I couldn’t refuse. The same guy said a lie: that he put one euro on the other side of the desk. C’mon invent something better next time. Also insulted and offended me without being formal as you should do with a customer. Rinse your mouth and think before spitting...

The bar service was friendly (it's not table service). The ladies toilet was also chained shut...the mens was unlocked. If you are opening for a day, unlock the bathrooms! The bathroom also needed cleaning. It was nice for a drink, I'm not sure I would want to stay longer....although apparently the food...
